TTC_JoeKeymasterNew to this board and to Keifer's writing. I am on a constant quest to improve my body. I stumbled upon this site through a reference regarding Carb Back Loading and became interested in learning more about it, which lead me to learn about Carb Nite.I have used an approach very similar to Carb Nite, mostly based on my own intuition and seeing how my body responds to different approaches. I have had great success with it so far. I am now contemplating the idea of experimenting with CBL since i have never done anything like it and will give me a whole new insight into how my body will respond. Here is my question for all of you that have done it. I am very carb sensitive, but have successfully gotten my BF into the single digits in the past. I backed off my diet for the last couple months and my BF has climbed from 7-8% to about 10-12%... I want to get it back down to the 7% range for a trip I am taking in 6 weeks. Would you recommend the CBL approach to do this?

Richard SchmittModeratorWelcome! With the goal of wanting to lower your body fat and being carb sensitive. Maybe CNS would be more of an ideal route for you. However a Modified CNS might prove to better. Depending on the type of training you're doing as well. Something that can be a high volume with heavy weights. A Modified CNS is having 2xCN a week. It helps those with a fairly low body fat to get even lower, as in for a contest prep body. You'll have to deplete accordingly and eat accordingly as well. I wouldn't jump on having 2xCN all of sudden because you HAVE to listen your body even more than you do now. Knowing what foods work and what does not. And how you might feel and look.

TTC_JoeGuestThanks Big Tex… I know the 2xCNS would work, that is basically what i did to get down to 7%. Carbs were about 40g per day except 2x per week they were about 220g. Besides my fat burn goal, i want to learn more about how my body responds to CBL. I guess a better way to phrase my question would be: What would you expect be results from CBL for someone that is starting out around 10%bf, training 3 heavy compound lift workouts per week, and doing about 5 high intensity cardio sessions per week, compared to someone doing the same workout bu on a CNS plan?

Richard SchmittModeratorDamn 5 sessions of HIIT? I would assume 2-3x would be perfect yet pushing it. Also I would assume you can do it, just be sure to figure out what works and what does not.

TTC_JoeGuestI know it sounds like too much cardio unfortunately (or fortunately depending on my goals at the time) I am a spin instructor and teach 5 sessions per week. My teaching style is very much interval oriented so i can tailor the class to my students, while at the same time reaping the benefits of the session myself
