I haven't used a preworkout supplement in years until the other day. I was running a little low on energy, so my roommate gave me a scoop of his Cytosport Monster Pump preworkout. It helped me power through my workout with ample energy and gave me a way better pump than I'm used to.My question is, do preworkouts spike insulin? Because if they do, then that prevents fat burning during workouts which isn't ideal for my goals. The ingredients in Monster Pump are as follows:Carbs - 5g (0g sugar)L-citrulline - 1.5 gL-Arginine - 2 gAcintos 2 (whey peptide fraction - 85 mgCreapure Creatine - 1.5gLeucine Peptides - 1.5gbeta-alanine - 1gbetaine anhydrous - 1gALA - 50mgL-carnitine - 500mgTaurine - 1 gcaffeine - 150 mgGlucuronolactone - 300mgMy inclination is that it DOES spike insulin because it has 1.5 g of leucine peptides. Does anyone know for sure, and if so, does anyone have a suggested preworkout supplement that doesnt spike insulin?

Funny that's what i use.  I wouldn't go as far to say that they prevent fat burning though. (speaking from results/experienced).

From the above list, the following do spike insulin (or don't help):The carbsAcintos 2Leucine Peptides ALA (doesn't spike it, but enhances any spikes that occur)You're better off mixing your own raws, and you will save $$$.  See my supplement log, in my signature.  I am sure you will have plenty of ideas after reading that.Cory
