    I'm starting to wonder if I really need quite so much of an insulin spike to halt catabolism. Wouldn't 20g of isolate followed by a few sweet potatoes (or not) do the trick?

    Yes. The CBL book states certain protein grams for a PWO Shake. 20-30g is for Strength Accumulation. I take 20-25g of ISO 100

    Well yes and no. Isolate is good. You don't necessarily need Hydrolysates, Leucine is a good idea to have and use. I'm sure you're aware of what it does? Basically keeps the muscle from being catabolic without the presence of carbs.

    Yeah . . . it's just if I'm going to go and eat a load of sweet potatoes, that will happen anyway, no?So I'm looking for the optimal dose. What my muscles need, without going overboard and ending up hypo. There is such thing as too much insulin.
