Hi DH Nation!I am knew to CNS. Its my second week in the program but I have a lot of questions. I know I can look for some of the answers throughout the forum posts but I decided to post my own since I dont have much time to stay online. My question is regarding calories. I hate counting calories and I think I go over 2500 calories 2 to 3 days a week (when I feel tired and hungry all the time) I train 5 to 6 days a week (sprints, stairs, weight lifting), work as a server for 6 to 8 hours,5 days a week. I also go school full-time, which takes a lot of energy out of me too...I want to have energy to complete all of my work and also train hard. However, I wanted to find a diet that allows me to eat a little bit more and eat the things I like. I can live without sugar and carbs for a couple of weeks but do NOT ask me to leave fat and protein out of my plate. I love a fatty steak, chicken skin, salmon skin, pork rinds, butter... I do crave sugar/carbs once in a while and thats why I thought eating them once a week would be awesome. But I want to see results so I am here to ask if I will see any body change even though I am not paying attention to the size of my fatty protein portions.Overall, does calorie matter on a very low-carb diet such as CNS? Will I need to accept that I will only see big changes if I control portions?Thank you!

Welcome to DH first off!Now secondly to answer your question. While calories shouldn't matter too much with CNS, it can play a huge role. Especially if you plan on drink "cups" of oil. Someone has done that yes. But what you should shoot for is 1g/target BW of protein. Depending on how lean you are and by your avatar picture you look fairly lean. So for fats try to aim for 1g/target BW as well. As a good baseline to start with. But don't stress over it. When making eggs/egg whites add some real butter or coconut oil. And/or with some chicken, if you ever eat chicken for an ULC meal. Really lean meats and the yolk in eggs cause insulin spikes which will stop fat burning. So keep enjoying those steaks, bacon, eggs, and any red meats you enjoy!Have fun and best of luck!

We don't count calories here, just carbs (stay under 30 g per day).  Just eat until satiety and you will be fine.

I still find myself being quite emotionally fragile/rollercoastery on CNS. Yesterday I was super-aggro because of work related stress and today that made me 'leaky' whilst driving to see a client just looking at the stunning white rolling hills and sun breaking through the clouds. It was quite beautiful but for a 30 yo man to shed a tear over it you have to ask WTF?Hmmm...think I might invest in that emWave2 after Christmas actually.

If you haven't got one already you would probably find a slow-cooker a really good investment.  ;D

The second experience wasn't a bad thing. I (and others on CNS) have similar experiences on a daily basis now.As for the first one: Yes, get the emWave2.

I agree, get the emWave.I don't use mine near as often anymore but it's totally changed my stress response and if I decided to use the emWave I can get into high coherence within a couple of minutes.
