jcgomezMemberI am eating about half a pound of meat at lunch and dinner and my pwo shake. I would like to up the protein a bit. Any ideas for easy convenient sources. I love shakes. My digestive system is not fond of fat so eating bacon and similar is not the best option for me

TokyoLifterMemberall of the above + get used to eating more fat. Personally, I try to get in a lot of protein in backloads and PWO, so that I can get away with less food. Ground beef with a little bit of cheese and eggs (or egg whites), you can't really eat too much of that.

DocrioMemberI tend to struggle at keeping fat:protein ratios at 1:1 or slightly less but given my fat isn't too high, I'll grab some canned salmon (I like Vital Choice as it's carefully sourced and handled). I also love sardines. The high Omega 3's will help reduce inflammation from your workouts. If my fat intake has been too high (from say, pate for breakfast) I'll just grab albacore tuna in water. I also try to have beef, salmon or wild jerky on hand. It's super easy to make but in a pinch, Oberto doesn't have as much crap in it as many other brands. You can also boil up a dozen eggs in advance and peel them and keep them handy. They'll last for a week in the fridge and are super convenient. Nom Nom Paleo has the "recipe" for perfect boiled eggs (uniform yellow yolk, no green, easy to peel)

PhattyMemberDouble up on whatever meat you're already eating if you need ALOT more protein. If it's just 20-30 more grams then have an extra scoop PWO OR do as others have said and add more egg whites to your food.

I like to buy 5 pounds of sirloin and make beef-cakes (yes, like a pancake but beef). I split the meat up into 5 even slabs and shape it to a hamburger and then throw some cheese on it... your talking 45g fat almost 100grams of protein in one sitting. And i don't have to increase meal frequency. Then Protein powders and post-workout meal will easily put you above 200g before your last meal.

Justin GuimondParticipantCold-smoked wild salmon packages (no need to refrigerate), or pastured pepperoni sticks from a good source (pork or other meat).

Shawn GreeneParticipantTunafish, is an easy and great source. Just get the pouches and watch the carbs if you get some of the flavored ones

seahoundMemberPork Rinds. I get them for like $1.00 at the gas station. Nothing but hog and salt. 2oz is 32g PRO, 20g FAT, no carbs. Drink lots of water though, they're salty.
