Sherylea HurstParticipantI have been using a 10 gram whey protein shake w/ 2 tbsp of fiber and a tbsp of fish oil as my first meal of the day ( around 10 after my coffee w/MCT). I have been told that this shake should go…..if I am to replace it was 1 piece of bacon and keep the fish oil is this too much fat for one meal? I also have another tbsp of fish oil with my 4 p.m meal. I take a total of 2 tsbp fish oil during the day. Sometimes I also may have some ground beef with a piece of bacon but wonder if it is too much fat as well? 🙂

Whoa! Yes please get rid of that! That is honestly not helping you at all. The only thing I can say about " too much fat " is if you drink a cup of oil. If you use Myfitnesspal.com to help track macros. Try to get .5g of fat to 1g of protein for the meal and total for the day per BW. If that helps. Stick to the coffee with MCT or coconut oil. Use whey PWO if you do need it. Don't count fish oil towards the day because your body absorbs is differently, from via Biojacked podcast. Again unless you drink cups of oil you're fine. Eat.

Sherylea HurstParticipantBig Tex when you say ” whoa get rid of that” are you referring to just the 10 grams of whey isolate? Or are you also referring to the fish oil and bacon at the same meal being to much fat…or both? I though tomorrow I would have my coffee with MCT and then at 10 A.M. Have 1 piece of bacon, 5 egg whites and 1 tbsp of fish oil…..i will eat an entire egg with yolk next meal with some grass fed beef? Thoughts?

Well you're definitely doing something wrong with the fish oil and 10g of whey combined. You're spiking insulin early in the morning. The fish oil will do nothing to stop or keep the spike from happening. Are you seeing a stall in fat loss because of this? You're better off using whey in a PWO Shake or if needed in the ULC part of the day, then stick to 10g of whey with 1tbsp MCT or Coconut Oil. Again...too much fat is drinking a cup of oil at one sitting. Don't think like the dogmatic view of "fat is bad, must not eat it"...one bacon though? Have you looked at anyone's log? At those meal plans? Or taken in what I mentioned about meal planning from my previous post? Not trying to be harsh or rude, I'm trying to make you see and help. I understand previous dieting and the way behind that, but this is different and better.

Sherylea HurstParticipantSorry I am fairly new to this forum….where can I find one's log or meal plans? Can you direct me to one that helps me here. I am NOT scared of fat….its just my total calories at the end of the day. I was doing a ketogenic diet in the summer and clearly was eating way to much fat and I put on about 6-8 lbs over the summer. In September I started to increase my protein and decrease my fat, kept carbs low ( but was still not doing CN) and the weight has now come off. I am just coming up on my 3rd carb nite this Saturday and I think I am seeing some results, however I am also training fairly hard so if the scale goes up it could be muscle, no? Anyways if you can direct me to anyones log….specifically on the fat/bacon thing I would appreciate it. I am assuming that 1 piece of bacon is not enough? 🙂 I currently weigh about 113 and I am 5'3.

Not a problem! I apologize for coming off too harsh or anything! Definitely not my intentions ma'am.Now a rule of thumb would be to try .5g of Fat to 1g of Protein per BW. Bump up Fat to .75g if needed (for energy and such)Please try to not care too much about counting kcal, but track macros instead. Much easier. The scale could be a trickster as well 😉 how do your clothes fit? Mirror look? Maybe even progress photos with tape measurements? I suggest starting a log here -> http://dangerouslyhardcore.com/forum/index.php?board=42.0 Many members will help you, like myself, plus you can find logs there to get an idea. If you purchase the CBL book, there are some females over on those threads that have logs over there as well. No ma'am...1 piece of bacon is surely not enough, however this is coming from me and I can't tolerate too much fat at one sitting ;D however bump up to 2x bacon and you'll be set, if you want to make some whole eggs (yolk and all) add some butter or coconut oil when you're frying it up, add some extra egg whites [urlhttp://www.allwhiteseggwhites.com/[/url] like I do with my eggs ;D

Sherylea HurstParticipantThank you Big Tex…you didnt come across harsh at all :). It is possible to keep building muscle on carb nite right? There are a few posts on the forum in reference to ” the scale should be coming down” but just as you have said maybe more appropriate to see how you look ect as the scale could be going up each week if your putting muscle on…is that correct?

It is very much possible, specially the way you're training! If measurements, photos, and mirror dictats so. If you take those into consideration and not the scale as much, you'll see progress. Now if your noticable getting bigger, meaning gaining a bit of fat, then there is something wrong with the ULC meals and possibly the CN itself.

Sherylea HurstParticipantBig Tex last question I promise ;)…my goal is literally to look like Alex Navarro. I am the same height but I notice at contest weight she comes in at 115-120. I am probably around 113 right now, perhaps a bit more but I certainly am not carrying near the muscle mass she is. So to set up my ULC days properly in combination with the CN protocol I would want to make my protein 115 grams for the day and 55 -60 grams of fat for the day? Keep my CN with low fat carbs for the first part and move into more higher fats for the evening? How does this sound? I need to put on more muslce mass for sure…I am going to do HIIT training 3-4 times per week and right now ( I have no idea about shockwave until 2.0 comes out) and I am doing a standard weight training program 5-6 days per week, lifting heavy. Thoughts? Thank you so much 🙂

That's an awesome Role Model to image! And honestly, you have the right mind-set with what you posted above! If you get more protein that 115g it's ok!, and the same goes to Fat. The CN idea is spot on as well. Have fun with white rice or bake potatoes, Fruity Pebbles or Rice Chex is great if you're going Gluten Free, if not there is many other low fat cereals to use with Skim Milk. Then move into some of you more desirable foods like cake or cookies, for example. Bake your own using dextrose so it'll be better for you. HIIT is great during the week and if I recall correctly, HIIT Post Training to really get into those glycogen stores. Like I said before, you have the right mind-set and can see you getting on stage for sure. Please start a log and take photos, it helps excite women to be apart of this awesome cult as well as the men. There are some amazing female lifters among here and having another log is highly recommended and motivating ;DBest of luck to you in this New Year, and by all means ask questions, it's how we learn 😉

Ummmm is that a recent podcast? I didn't know you shouldn't count that in your fats....Also Tex's link might help: http://dangerouslyhardcore.com/forum/index.php?topic=6351.msg71765#msg71765

Lesli BortzParticipantOmega-3 fats are very hard to store as fat. There is no downside to eating them all day long. But avoid mega doses. Kifer recommends 10-15g total/day
.Yeah I understand this...but didn't think it shouldn't "count". Latest notes I took on latest podcasts...Omega 3's: Supplementing with omega-3s in quantities 3 to 4 times recommended can increase the anabolic signaling of insulin and amino acids. Include liberal amounts of the omega-3s, 5 grams or more of DHA and EPA, for maximum growth. Very hard to get them into fat cells but they are the easiest to release. They are anti inflammatory, aid in tissue repair, ligament repair. It's extremely more likely used for beneficial purposes than storage. 10-15g per day.So still doesn't say you shouldn't include in your macros. BUT I suppose that would be the interpretation. Just wasn't sure if Kiefer directly said that.

Richard SchmittModeratorMy mistake. I guess it'll be a good idea to track them. I do, but I assumed incorrectly.
