Does anyone know what the appropriate dosage would be of creatine for myself?  I am a 5'2 and 113 lb female.  I just listened to a podcast where Keifer is recommending it.  I have heard that creatine causes terrible bloating?  Is there a specifc type to take? When is the best time to take creatine and my goal is to drop fat ( Im assuming im around 20%) and gain muscle.  Any thoughts

I like to take 5 g of creatine before and after workouts and 5 g before I go to bed on off days.  Pure creatine should not cause you to bloat.  The “bloat” some people get from creatine supplements are from crap from the major supplement companies that usually have a bunch of carbs with the creatine.Creatine should be the only ingredient in your creatine supplement.

No real reason, it's just the most convenient time for me to take it.

There is several types of creatine, but just buy creatine monohydrate.  It is by far the most studied and it is proven to work.  It is also the cheapest.

Agree with the creatine monohydrate... you don't need anything else in the creatine supplement; anything else that you need will be part of your pre or post workout shake recipe.

Is it just as important for women to take creatine as it is for men?

Creatine isn't really important, it's just a supplement.  There is an advantage, but it really isn't that great and you have to be rather in tune with your body to notice the effects.I recommend it because it is really cheap, but if it was expensive I would say skip it.  I don't think there are any gender differences.
