What's your preferred way? Go it alone? Find a buddy? Find a coach?I train alone at a pretty decent gym, and all of the trainers there are way too into bosu balls for me to want to hire any of them, feels like I'd benefit from someone to watch my form, if nothing else.

    I always train alone.

+1I wouldn't mind have a Workout Partner, but I'm accustomed to doing it alone

My workout intensity has increased mucho since I found a a partner. Having a consistent/trusted spotter has really helped me to much heavier than in the past (heavy negatives ftw!) Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2

Depends on the partner or coach lolI remember having some great workout partners who I could train with every day and rely on them to be on time and also on the other hand some shitty ones who would show up and half ass it and bitch the whole time. Depending on your goals I do very much like having an *experienced* and knowledgeable coach who takes a genuine interest in your success.

I prefer training alone, mostly because I'm used to it but it makes for shorter sessions in the gym.I tried training with a friend, but his time keeping was shit and the exercises we were doing were shit too.I've tried training with my older brother too but our goals differ. I do 5x5 compound lifts, he does a bodypart split.I tried his style for a week and then he tried what I do for a week.I didn't enjoy his style of training and he didn't like mine so we called a day after that.

I like training with someone if we can do the same training style and they are at least mostly competent. My friend joining a local gym is the only reason I even go to a gym rather then just my garage, but for some things I will go there even if I'm training alone because having the extra equipment is nice. The nice thing about training alone though is I can put my headphones in and just disappear to the world. Plus the workouts go quicker.

I have a coach, but its online. I tend to train alone unless I know I'll need a lot of spotting. Then I'll go and train with the power lifters.

I go alone too. When I used to train with a partner, the advantage was the motivation to going to the gym, the disadvantage was that if the partner is sick, it'd be enough to convince me not to go that day. Plus our schedules had to converge to make it work, so when one of us changed the schedule (in my case, he moved to St. Louis), I stopped working out, and found the gym to be kinda lame. Plus we did a LOT of talking. I found partners at the gym doing the same. After getting back into the gym, by being alone, scheduling was easier, the routine went quicker, I was able to find my own motivation, and I just go all out. When working out, I guess it's also a mental thing too that you're trying to work on.To fix posture, there are tons of good training programs with nice descriptions on line.I've used this one for the squat, deadlift, and bench press:I don't follow his 5x5 program, but when he describes an exercise, he is spot on, and extremely amazing at ithttp://www.stronglifts.comhttp://stronglifts.com/free-video-how-to-deadlift-with-proper-form/Plus a lot of gyms have equipment that prevents accidents from occurring (like a power rack), in case something goes awry.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kv0kUd1BQdk
