shane87MemberYou are eating almost 170 grams of fat a day. I weigh 265 lbs and try to keep my fat at around 110grams trying to drop to 220lbs.

troypulkParticipantI am two days away from my sixth Carb Nite and still have not lost any weight. Thankfully I have also not gained any weight but the scale just won't display anything but 219 pounds. I am 6'3" and 20 years old. Recently I used the fat is the devil, low GI carbs, lots of protein diet to get down to 194. I still had some weight to lose and feel like 180 would get me a six pack and make me happy, for now.
You should go strict Paleo, according to Robb Wolf http://robbwolf.com/Ditch all the snacking, skip breakfast/lunch 2 to 3 times a week, drink coffee with come coconut oil from the time you get up until you eat, about 2 to 4 cups. Eat real food stop eating the processed garbage, only eat high carb/High glycemic Index food on Carb Nite for 6 to 8 hrs in order to spike Insulin and keep it high for that long.

Richard SchmittModeratorYeah while Paleo is great, why not do the recommendations from the book, podcasts, tubecasts, and articles laid out by the actual creator of CNS and CBL? If you catch up on this information, you'll understand how to achieve your goal. Instead of going “strict Paleo”…

Robert GrayParticipantPaleo is an overused word. J. Stanton put it really well recently, stating that “paleo foods” should simply be the intersection between those foods that are most beneficial and least toxic. It just so happens that those foods are all simple, whole foods like meat, eggs and green vegetables, as well as coconut derivatives and isolated protein sources for workouts, like whey. Also from J. Stanton, "eat like a predator, not like prey. Predators feast, then fast. Prey grazes on snacks." Don't mix up Kiefer's recommendations with the tired template of six little meals a day.At any rate, eat fewer nuts. Even macadamias can stall progress if you're eating 30-40 kernels a day.You might even want to try a systemized fasting plan for just a couple of weeks to help reset your leptin (hunger signaling hormone), because it sounds like your mealplan is a steady stream of food all day right now.I was on CNS for two months before I saw the progress I wanted. For the first month, I gained weight because I was unaware that the Thai food I ate weekly was cooked with sugar and broke ketogenesis between carb nites. I also started training heavily and put on a lot of lean mass, so the number on the scale was unreliable. After I discovered the Thai food problem, I got back on track. Now I live off of eggs, beef and cheese during the week and go hog wild on my carb nites, and I'm dropping several pounds of fat a week.A nice thing about the CNS system is that it can really help to break carb cravings and mend bad food relationships, so that during the week you WANT to eat simple ULC meals instead of trying to shoehorn extra snacks and as many carbs as possible into each feed. Just hang tight and stick with it. If you follow the plan, the plan works.

I don't think he needs to go "strict paleo" per say, I just think he needs to simplify his diet.

I know the book says other wise, like the food list on pages 132-160 are not all paleo.I said Paleo in order for him to get back to ULC and strict Paleo will do that, from there he can add the variety that the book provides.

I was going off a suggestion Kiefer made in Power Magazine to take one's body weight in pounds as the number of grams of protein to intake each day, then subtract the amount of protein one gets in their post-workout shake and that should be the number of grams of fat to intake in a day. It seemed kind of high to me but thats why I eating so much fat. I'll try and intake around 100-120grams this next week and see if I get better results. Thanks for you input.

d3spwnParticipantI hate to break it to you, but it looks to me you're just eating way too much.

FairyGuestIf he stopped measuring grams and just ate clean ULC foods when hungry, he'd probably be a lot better off.

This is what I am saying. Meat and ULC veggies.

samuel r walkerParticipantFor gauging progress without taking measurments, designate and article of clothing thats small/tight fitting, like a tee shirt, and try it on every couple weeks to see how youre filling it out.. It could be hard for some to just look in the mirror for such, and you should be able to tell fairly easy whether its looks/feels looser from fat loss, or if youre filling it out more from added lb

Chief KiefMemberLess processes food And less food overall, got it! Thanks for all the help! I will report back in a few weeks after the suggestions have had a chance to make a difference.

RudeeGuestLean proteins, green veggies, healthy fats and clean carb ups was the key to my success. The more I cleaned up my eating, the better my results.
