What fish oils do y'all take that meets the requirements of 5g of EPA and DHA, also doesn't run up the bill to much?

Where do you guys get that, I found it on amazon but so much more expensive than buying fish capsules from true nutrition.

It seems more expensive until you do the math on how many of the capsules you will need to take to get the desired amount of the targeted FAs, DHA/EPA previously mentioned...  With the TN capsules you're getting 180 EPA/120 DHA per cap and with Carlson's Finest you're getting 800 EPA/500 DHA per teaspoon.  So, you'd need roughly 4-5 TN caps per teaspoon of CF.  If you're aiming for the equivalent of 2 Tablespoons (1 T=3 tsp) of CF (4800mg/4.8g EPA), you'd need roughly 26-27 TN caps.  (Double-check my cyphering here, but I think that is correct.)I'll let you work out the math on the cost, but for me the mere convenience of taking a T of CF twice a day vs. swallowing all those caps... decision made.

NOW fish oil is the cheapest per gram of (EPA+DHA) that you can get.  Carlson's I think is about 62% (EPA/DHA) and NOW is 75%.

I use carlson's fish oil and get it through Drugstore.com.  I found it to be a good price and I get 5% back each quarter and that adds up over time.

Ok guys, yesterday I tried 1 tsp of liquid fish oil. How is it even possible that things smell like nothing and taste like this :> Seriously this was the worst taste I have ever had in my life  :-[ How do you do this? Do you mix it with a gallon of water? :>

ah yeah, the oil is pretty rough 🙂MY personal favorite is Flameout, but it is massively expensive to get here in Oz ($70 for 90 capsules), so I get Carlson Super DHA. I prefer the high DHA ratio oils.

For those in the UK, myprotein.com's Omega 3 liquid oil seems to be very good and it's not too expensive (£8.50 per 500ml)."Amount per 5ml serving:EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid): 825mgDHA (Docosahexaenoic acid): 550mg"Bonus: You can get it in orange or strawberry flavour. I've only tried the orange and it tastes much better than any plain fish oil I've tried in the past.

Flameout is great stuff but it is pricey I'll get 2-4 bottles a year so that way I'm not on Carlson's all year long. I can't recall where I read it maybe Mark's Daily Apple but it recommended changing fish oil sources a few times a year. (That's how I justify in my mind the price of the flameout, heh).

Sorry you had such a bad experience.Which brand and flavor did you try?  In my experience, the Carlson's has NO fishy smell, and has a very light lemon or orange flavor.  I got my wife to try it, so that speaks volumes.

The brand is “Henry Lamotte” (i think only available in Germany) and the flavor is rotten fish  ;D No it has no special flavor. Maybe I'll watch out for flavoured fish oil.
