Does anyone supplement with fenugreek? If so do you take it during the ULC part of the day or during CBL or carb nite? After reading that fenugreek can replace carbs when taking other supplements like creatine or carnitine it made me curious. I've read the following information on examine.com a few times now but I can't figure out if fenugreek realeases insulin. I would definately start taking it throughout the day if I knew it wouldnt hamper the ULC portion with insulin spikes.http://examine.com/supplements/Fenugreek/#summary4-0

Interesting. Well according to what I can see, “insulin sensitizers” (as fenugreek would appear to be) improve the sensitivity of peripheral tissues to insulin, which results in decreased circulating insulin levels. So if I'm understanding that correctly, it doesn't release insulin.

Ahh thanks for that explanation. Currently following CNS so I didn't want to take something that would cause a bigger insulin spike.I've been taking 500mg-1g on fenugreek usually just post workout but also at any other time I'm taking whey, creatine, or carnitine. Can't really say if it's better with or without but it's pretty cheap so I'll just keep using it for now.

Whey can cause an insulin spike remember, which is fine after a workout of course, but probably not desirable in morning for example.

I've been on fenugreek supplement Ageless Male – a testosterone booster for quite some time now. I have found it very effective. My stamina has increased, my muscle mass has also increased, my hormones seem balanced other than  😉 . Life's good. You could try it and see how it works for you. It's an over the counter supplement.
