TobbeeKeymasterHello,I decided to try CBL and I'm on my 5th day of the preperation phase. Overall I'm below 30g of carbohydrate during 24h but I'm not sure if my breakfast habits are alright, I know it's not optimal but I'm not aiming for that. Is it okey to eat 2 whole eggs (medium sized) and 170g of quark (~20g of protein and ~7g of carbs) for breakfast, approx. 2 hours after I wake up? I have lunch at 12p.m and work out at 5p.m.I know it's not optimal but it feels good.

GnomerParticipantonce your prep phase is done you should have no problem skipping breakfast.. a tablespoon of coconut oil should get your through till lunch just fine.. if you need to eat for whatever reason have 0 carbs for breakfast.. something like 2 fried eggs and bacon

TobbeeGuestAlright, thank you. So what you're saying is that if I eat about 10g of carbs for breakfast, this will spike my insulin levels to much and mess up the diet? Would it be better if I just ate 2 eggs för breakfast, 2 hours after I wake up, and than drink ~20g (or is this to much?) of whey between breakfast and lunch? Not too fond of bacon. Also, can I drink my coffee directly when I wake up?

coffee is fine as soon as you wake up... why do you need a whey shake between breakfast and lunch?.. you want to limit your insulin spikes as much as possible prior to the afternoon so it's ideal to not have anything that may spike insulin prior to lunch... not fond of BACON??!?!?! it's seriously the one food i could eat at every meal and not get tired of:)

i'd be curious to see where he said that.. he generally recommends people doing CBL to not eat breakfast period

Yeah, I am new to CBL, but I don't recall Kiefer ever recommending whey after waking up.

This needs to be differentiated though. Saying a whey shake implies I full scoop, this is on average 1/3 of a scoop.

he recommends this mainly just for density bulking pg. 124 of the book also its not really a "whey shake" like said above its 10g which is not even half a scoop of most proteins
