Deeanna EveyParticipantI found this site after a friend posted the article on how running reduces your metabolism on facebook. I thought the CNS would be just what I needed and bought the book. I purchased all the requirements (protein powders/vitamins/fiber) and started my diet. Then I started reading the logs and realized that so much information was outdated. Thank goodness for this web site! I went on CNS and after 3 carb nites did not lose a pound so I quit. I think it wasn't working for me for several reasons:-normally if I worked-out it would be cardio and the book said no cardio so I just didn't work-out all together. (I need a work-out!)-was having protein powder isolate every night before bed (book says to eat before bed and have a serving of whey protein isolate daily so I put the two together - forum says protein shakes only after work out)-I was so confused with the differences in the book and on the web site (now trashing the book and relying on web site)-I was going through financial turmoil so I was stressed to the max! With the stress I couldn't sleep so the diet was just a test of wills. (Yeah bankruptcy! - no more stress)-Everyone around me did not believe CNS would work and treated me as if I was crazy. I was reminded daily. F those people. I want to prove them wrong. It's been 3 weeks since I quit and I have gained 5 pounds. Now I am going back on CNS and need some help. Here are my stats:175 lb5' 7"35 year oldFemaleI can't join a gym right now but have Winnie Linguvic's Book "long, lean and strong". I think that will be good for weight training 4 days a week. Do I work out in the morning or evening? How many days a week do I need to do HIIT?How much fat and protein do I need to consume everyday?Any help is much appreciated.

GnomerParticipantmy suggestion if your schedule is flexible run more of a CBL schedule but with only one CN.. so basically you would workout in the afternoon preferably around 5pm.. i'd try to not eat breakfast at all and if you can not eat anything for at least 12 hours from your last meal at night.. for breakfast you could still have coffee and whipping cream.. if you feel you need to eat something bacon would suffice. I have only a tablespoon of coconut oil in the AM and that holds me over till lunch. If you eat like this you need to make sure you are getting a good amount of food for lunch, dinner, and before bed snack. The actual ratios will really depend on you i'd suggest eating till you are satisfied but keep carbs low. The easiest for me is pretty much eat no direct carbs(grains and such) on ULC days. Any carbs I get are from nuts or veggies. Save the whey for only post workout and if you want add some creatine in there as well.As for HIIT its really up to how you feel during the week you probably won't need more than 2-3 sessions if you are doing another workoutWhile eating ULC its important to keep fats up as they are your source of energy a couple tablespoons of coconut oil a day helps a lot as its easily assimilated for fuel and helps your body generate ketones. It's also important to keep your basic minerals up as well. Sodium, magnesium, potassium, and of course calcium are all very important. Low sodium, magnesium or potassium can cause all sorts of issue like headaches and cramping on ULC...anyway those are just my suggestions.. many people have their way of doing things just gotta find what works best for you.

+1 ^^ this is perfect 🙂What kind of HIIT are you planning? I started out doing WarriorZ (Zuzana Light's) workouts 2x a week along with 4 days weight lifting upper/lower body split and ended up being exhausted and caught the ''keto flu''. I got keto flu for a good 5 days and then I switched to Fartlek style cycling (4:30 minutes low intensity, 30 seconds max effort) for 6-7 rounds and it is perfect! I'm drenched but muscles aren't as sore and I can do my weight training the next day without having lack of strenght! I'd love to hear your choice of HIIT and if it works well for you! I guess everyone is different also but since it is the same diet base! Hope everything goes well and YOU CAN DO IT! LIKE YOU SAID F THESE PEOPLE (I get so many similar comments from people around me I know the feel!!) 🙂

Deeanna EveyParticipantI really don't know what HIIT I will do. I start on Wed and will have it figured out by then. I've been running over posts to see what to do. Thanks for all your support!
