Carb nite totals only really count carbs and its around 450gramsI have been doing the above and had great results I am 193lbs and around 7 to 8%BFI know I have a sluggish metabolism and endomorphic.I am thinking about switching my diet to 3 low carb days following by a carb nite of 300grams of carbs after training.the diet will be the same I just adding a carb nite. I am thinking about doing this because by the end of the week my workouts are becoming sluggish and my bodyfat results have leveled out. I want to drop as much bodyfat as possible and maintain muscle.Do you all think adding in a carb nite is the way to go. please you respond with your oppinon and recommendations.TrainingDay 1 Delts and Triceps, HIIT 26mins (30sec sprint, 2.5 rests)Day 2 Back and absDay 3 Off, HIIT 26minsDay4 LegsDay 5 Off, HIIT 26minsDay 6 Chest and BicepsDay 7 Off, HIIT

GonnaBeGiantMemberWhy don't you just try carb backloading?
June 19, 2013 at 5:01 am #186606
brianyoung74MemberBecause my goal right now is to compete and have as low bodyfat as possible. I will switch to full CBL after the show.

steve_76MemberWhat is modified CBL? Don't try to reinvent the program is my recommendation. Stick to one or the other. Maybe do two carb nites to boost metabolism.

brianyoung74Memberwell its modified because I don't eat till noon. and I only eat one carbnite a week, which is after a workout which is a backload. what should I call it

steve_76MemberSounds like carb nite? Backloading is just loading up on HI GI carbs post workout. You don't have to eat until midday on carb backloading. I'm not sure about carb nite, but I'm assuming that you have to continue the fast after waking and just drink coffee with mct oil etc. Carb laoding requires a backload at least every time you've finished training. You won't get the gains you are looking for by doing one backload, but that would boost metabolism. I think you need to read CBL, and I need to read carb nite lol. If your goal is just getting ripped then I would go for carb nite from what I've read. If you want to loose fat and gain strength then go for CB, but do strength accumulation not density bulking.

brianyoung74MemberNope didnt read either I just decided one day to come up with some new diet. If you cant come up with an actual suggestion and a reason for it. Dont say anything at all. Trying things out is how u learn what works best. If keifer didnt try something new and different we would not have cbl or carbnite.

steve_76Member! Chill out lol. I am making a suggestion it looks like you are closer to carb nite than CBL. Keifer does say in the book that CBL is basically like carb nite but with extra carb nites. You can't really do both is what I'm saying so maybe just commit to one or the other. We're all here to try to help not to argue. If someone has offered an opinion you can take it or leave it. We won't get offended. Like I said maybe I need to read carb nite. You might need to read CBL again. On earlier post you asked if an extra carb nite would be benificial. The answer is yes. Trying things out is best I agree so do what you think is right for you.

DerekcervaParticipantdepends on your body for some people, according to keifer its possible to take cbl way into single digits, and some require carb nite, maybe your a cbl kind of guy, that being said the amount of carbs could still be the same as on cn, (meaning you backload after some sessions but the total carb count for the week may still be lower than cn) id try cbl if I were you, but i mean if your competition is like 2 weeks away just do 2 cn.After I would definately go cbl

brianyoung74MemberThank you for your advice. I give CBL a try. The comp is 14weeks away. what kind of result have you experience from either CBL or CN

steve_76MemberI am in week 8 of CBL. I was previously on a typical low cal diet and lost 15lbs. I felt that I had lost a bit too much muscle which is why I was attracted to CBL. I have now put on 9lbs with minimal fat. I normally put on fat very quickly so I am surprised at how lean I have managed to stay whilst eating more junk carbs than I would normally consume. I will switch to SA in a couple of weeks to get ripped. Good luck with the competition.

Im on cbl, the prep phase i lost about 5 lbs and gained it back and lost body fat, been doing it about 4 weeks a decrease in about 1% body fat and a gain of 5 lbs from day 10 of prep, so water glycogen weight a lot into that, but i have gained a ton of strength as well, my lifts have all gone up from 5-10 lbs since starting
