Guys, I'm on CNS, have been for 6 months. I'm much leaner, but still around my abs is taking forever haha. As mentioned I cannot use my forearm for lifting, due to a tear so I'm wondering how many times I can lift with my legs in a week, and what kind of exercises can I use to split the days up?. I'm a beginner lifter, so I usually do leg press, and I was thinking of doing one day leg press as main, and curls and leg extensions on one, then doing squats for the other main, with weighted lunges and something else the other day. I've been doing hiit 2-3 times a week to compensate for no arm/back work, but while I'm losing weight, it doesn't seem to be getting rid of abdominal fat. My arms are showing more veins, and my waist is around 32", chest is coming along, but damn, my abs area is slow to shrink!!Any ideas??

I think you're on the right track.  Since you're limited with upper body workouts, working the big muscles in your legs should help burn more calories.I think that leg press and lunges are knee dominant (like a squat) and I personally would rather squat than leg press but that's your option.  Instead of doing a weighted lunge, maybe a weighted step up would be better since a step up is more hip dominant (like a deadlift).

As  Stevan said, leg presses are not a replacement for squatting.  I would squat since they work about everything in the lower body, but if you can't squat (or deadlift) you can just do a combo of leg presses, hip thrusts, back extensions, and leg curls.

Thanks guys. I'm new to lifting so I find leg press easier, though I would like to move to squatting. Funny, I can do 5 x 390lbs on the leg press, but I wouldn't be game to try to squat 50lbs on a barbell haha. I can do light weight bench press now, though I have to not grip the bar ( so I don't engage the affected forearm muscle ), more like cupping it with my hands.  Happy to at least be able to do some benching!. Keen to try deadlift as well, though I'll use dumbbells and keep It light I think.

Well yea the leg press is easier, but just because it is easier doesn't mean it's appropriate for a beginner.  Learning to squat is the first thing a beginner should do in the weight room.  Start off with bodyweight squats and use the barbell once you are comfortable. Here is how your lower body workout should look:Bodyweight SquatGlute Bridge45 degree HyperextensionLeg PressLeg CurlsNone of these exercises require anything of your forearms, so you should be able to do all of them.  Look them up if you don't know what they are or how to do them.

So it's been a while. My forearm is much better, though still a bit tender the day after light bench press. The good news though  is that I can do heavy arms as long as I use a preacher curl bench. I did a good arm session the other night at work, which I'm now paying for haha, but at least I can do more than just legs. Though I do like legs now.
