CcosgrovMemberOk so second night of CBL and I basically did the same as the night before. Bowl of cereal before bed with a handful of jelly beans and a protein shake. While I enjoyed my bowl of cereal I went through the book as I do probably every other day. I was looking through my 'carb baseline' and I realize that I am supposed to eat 400 grams of carbs. Really? In one night? But then when I looked at the sample meal plans at the back, they didn't show close to 200 grams of carbs as a sample CBL day. What am I missing? Will I sabatoge my results by not eating my baseline carb amounts? Or am I missing the 'small print' somewhere? And for those of you CBLoaders out there how many days a week would you say you BL? I know that it is supposed to coincide with your resistance days, so I weightlift every other day...does that mean I CL every other day? Thanks in advance for your help...PS I am a female so I know that changes things a little...but would still like to hear what the average one of you are doing.

CcosgrovMemberSo far I've had two. I work out early morning (5am) so I only carb load the night before I workout.

CcosgrovMemberPer day I have really one back load meal, bowl of cereal before bed. I do resistance training 4 days a week. My ultimate goal is to lean out and take off maybe 5-10 pounds. My daily calories is 15-1600, with about 150 grams of protein, 15-20 grams carb and about 40 grams fat (that still freaks me out). I guess my question is what can I expect? Can I expect to gain a lbs or so everytime I BL then lose it the days I don't? Will my body composition still change in the meantime? Thanks for your help.

I do 3 BL/week, Mon, Wed and Fri. I am supposed to take in roughly 600g carbs. Since I do 3/week, i took the baseline multiplied by 1.5 and divided it by 3. I am consuming on my BL nights anywhere from 260g - 300g/BL. Seems to be working fine for me this way. I am also trying to stay lean. Don't spend time looking at the calories, just focus on daily macros for ULC and BL nights. Hope this helps.

DerekcervaParticipant^^ that's the method I use as well but since in on a caloric deficit I usually try to do one day a week of higher carb (around 150-175 normally and one day of like 250 ish to get the cal up) like a carb cycling approach coupled with backloading I just started this so it's too early to tell results I should know in a few weeks
