leanandathleticMemberI have been carb backloading the last few weeks and already noticed increases in size while staying around 10% bodyfat. My question is if I can do a kind of hybrid of SA and DB? What I mean is I would basically be doing SA but backload every day. From what I've read it wouldn't add very much fat if any at all. I would keep SA protocol by skipping breakfast and following supplement recommendations. Would this work or would I be better off just doing DB all the way and eating breakfast + the extra supplements?

Lol, that would be doing DB, but skipping breakfast. Should be fine, see how it goes.

gilley.daniel1MemberThat's actually what I do, man! It's great! I have dropped from 9% body fat to 6.74% body fat! Honestly, I would highly recommend trying it all the way! But that's just me I guess. Different things work for different people.

I think what you are doing is density bulking, can't recall in book that breakfast was compulsory when on DB protocol.Fwiw, I started on db at around 8% bf and put on too much fat with loading nightly, so you have just got to try it for yourself.

It's not compulsory, Kiefer just recommends it. Also even if you are on DB, if you are concerned about gaining fat, you are better off not backloading on off days.

tzanghiParticipantI think this is a smart approach. People for some reason seem to polarize between SA and DB if they're doing CBL. Interested to see your results.

Exactly. DB and SA are not separate diets. They are both CBL, each just uses CBL for a different goal. You can backload everyday and be SAing and you can backload only three days a week and be DBing.

If I was looking to lose additional fat, would it be worthwhile pushing breakfast back another hour or two ?

You are doing things correctly, so don't change anything.
