So I was thinking about how expensive protein sources can be and how a lot of the people on here are eating bacon and grass fed beef on the ulc portions…What is wrong with eating leaner meats such as chicken and egg whites and then just adding the MCT oil or coconut oil to the dish? Is this a logical/cheaper option? I like bacon but its a pain and I don't really trust it's source if I can't afford the expensive stuff.  And grass fed beef taste great but it can get really expensive. So...lean meats with fat added? Sound ok?Example30 grams protein from egg whites (from an egg white container)Tbsp of oil oil mayoTbsp of MCTTsp of hot sauce

Do what you gotta do.  If you can't afford it, do the best you can.

The interesting thing here is that there isn't one definitive answer for all meal plan foods (I hate using the word diet).  Is there a benefit to using MCT oil with you eggs, not necessarily, but there might be a little difference.  I find that many of the things that people say and do on this forum are about making there life easier in terms of a “one stop shop” to making the food they want to eat that is appropriate for them and their schedule.  People who live on the road versus people who can prepare meals at home, it all varies.  But to say that one aspect is better than the other is not what the CBL or CNS is all about.  Just make sure the foods you are using are not highly processed for ULC and that you keep macros in the realm that they are supposed to be in.  Any variations are valuable to you and, when shared, can help others who may be in the same situation as you.

MCT/Coconut oil and Grassfed butter are the main sources I use.Grassfed beef, no nitrate bacon, and omega 3 free range eggs are the staples of my ULC portion of the day.I would suggest dropping the mayo.

It's more nutritious to eat actual food instead of getting all your fat from MCT oil.  Also is grass fed beef really more expensive than consuming all that MCT oil?  MCT oil isn't exactly cheap either.  Liquid egg whites are pretty expensive too.  You are usually better off buying actual eggs. You are right on the bacon though.  It is expensive and not really worth the price.

That's kinda what I've been doing. I get around 100g of protein from lean chicken breasts then add grassfed butter/coconut oil to my veggies.I still eat bacon too. I couldn't do without that.
