Gambit217MemberHi folks, i did a search for this and couldnt find any threads but apologies if its already been covered.Basically i'm just wondering if anyone has any advice on or can recommend what type of Probiotic Supplement to go for?I'm just looking to improve my digestion and overall gut health. I'm on CBL at the moment and am finding myself suffering from bloating and indigestion a lot more as a result.I've bought some sauerkraut but am struggling to deal with the taste. Any tips or recommendations would be really welcome. Thanks

Gambit217MemberThanks mate, i'm in Ireland so would need to order from Amazon.co.uk and the delivery charge is almost as much as the product itself. I think i might source some locally here. Are there any specific things i should look out for or avoid, other than being gluten free and having min 5 million Bacteria per capsule?Cheers.

TCBParticipantTry checking out a product called Prescript-Assist .. It's a product with soil based organisms that can help rebuild gut flora in similar ways to pre/probiotics.For a straight probiotic, check out Klaire Labs. I think the probiotic they have is called Ther-Biotic

Yeah, good stuff though. I follow Chris Kresser and one of the few products he recommends is the Prescript-Assist. It's not bad though, because if I remember right you can dial back dosage and make a bottle last awhile.Kresser has said often that he isn't a proponent of using pre/probiotics as a maintenance thing, only as a therapeutic item, which is where the soil based organisms in Prescript-Assist come in handy quite well.

legion78Memberwill probiotics help relieve that bloated feeling after eating, thats what I get alot after i eat, makes it hard to get enough calories in when you dont feel like eating.

CBachelor17MemberNo they wont help with bloating, but they will help digest, especially if its food your body isn't use to digesting during ULC days, or in general. Not saying this is your issue, but sometimes i find myself eating too quickly, and not properly chewing on CN. So maybe try to control how fast you eat each meal, and try and chew it up a little more. That helped me a lot.

+1Crazy ironic but just a few hours after my last reply I went on true nutrition and ordered some dextrose, ended up adding something I didn't know they had to the mix. It's a carbohydrate peptide enzyme, which will most Deffinatly help. Additionally, they had a blend with electrolytes with the enzymes so if hydration is an issue on your CN that is a + as well. I went with that because it was the same price so more bang for the buck!

I saw that too..This post should probably be in that thread, but I'm effin lazy and I'm here already so:After you've had some time to use the dextrose with enzyme, post an update with how you feel it's working.. In terms of the whole carb digestion and such..I considered it when I ordered my dextrose but opted for just plain, unflavored.(Random side note: Just started CBL today, and had my PWO with creatine, leucine, 30g whey iso, and 40g dextrose.. holy bajeebus that was cloyingly sweet! Ha)
