Robert GrayParticipantHas anyone else been looking into resistant starch? I saw Richard Nikoley's N=1 work on the subject and I've started taking 30g of Bob's Red Mill Unmodified Potato Starch at night before bed. It has some unique effects in regard to digestion, insulin sensitivity and gut health. My own results so far have been deep sleep, vivid dreams and some increased bowel movement activity, and I'm curious about what other people might be doing with it.http://freetheanimal.com/2013/06/resistant-starch-an-overall-primer-with-references.htmlhttp://freetheanimal.com/2013/06/resistant-starch-now-were-getting-somewhere-and-talking-shit-too.html

Chris KotelesGuestI just read through a lot of Richard's stuff on this topic today and am quite intrigued. That's actually a major understatement since a lot of backloads have been consisting of desserts made from tapioca flour which may or may not be an RS. If it is then I've basically been screwing myself over since not only will I not get a spike in BG but from what I've read so far the RS will blunt the effect of subsequent carb feeds, too.Would be really interested in hearing others' experiences with RS on CBL as I've only been doing CBL for two months and have possibly been doing a terrible job because of the tapioca flour.

Peter HuntParticipantI've just started supplementing with this myself. So far I can attest to the vivid dreams, and greatly improved TMI aspects. However what really interests me are the improved insulin sensitivity – http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/82/3/559.full – and the reduced BG spikes from meals in general, so we can return to ketosis more quickly, or even remain in ketosis throughout (when having a fat/protein meal). Personally I'm also a fan of the fact it increases satiety, which even on the nicotine protocol seems to still be a problem of mine.I would, however, recommend taking either a lower dose of RS on backload days (or the day of Carb Nite) or skipping it completely, as RS persists to blunt BG spikes in later meals, even into the next day - which of course we don't want. Maybe take some just before bed, for improved sleep and GH release - but I haven't experimented with that yet.

AaronVandyParticipantThis seems to be a hot topic at the moment. I'm interested how you incorporate it in Tigerite. Before bed at night or early in the day? Was interesting hearing Kiefer and Dr Patel mention on the podcast the other day.
