FichmiesterMemberHey guys,So ive been experimenting with different carb amounts in my backloads for a good 2 weeks now. I still feel that I haven't looked full in my muscles the next morning yet. I have varied my carb intake anywhere from 170-390. I currently am 6'5 and 235 pounds. My ULC days and pre-workout I feel have been very well regulated. I have coffee with coconut oil every morning. Around noon I eat chicken with pesto or some type of red meat(typically a burger or two with a slice of cheese.) I have a preworkout shake around 330 and workout from 4-530ish. I have 2 scoops of whey isolate with 40-50g of dextrose and then start going heavy on potatoes(white and sweet) and rice with high protein for dinner an hour or so later. Then I usually finish with some pretzels and cottage cheese. Yet I still wake up looking "soft" the next morning. I have a little bit of a gut that I know will take time to get rid of, so I wonder if that alone is making me look soft??

GnomerParticipantI'm pretty lean and never felt full or tight muscles after a back load… I have tried so many carbs I almost puked to one single carb meal after workout and everything in between and always feel the same way in the am..just normal

FichmiesterMemberSodium intake is usually between 2500-3100mg a day.

i did find this http://www.flexonline.com/nutrition/use-sodium-look-full-vascular-and-rippedmy sodium is already pretty high... may bump one backload to like 2x the amount to see if it makes a difference

steve_76MemberI've had the same problem, but it was only when on DB. I started at about 200g/carbs, and went up to 600 which was just too much. On the last couple of weeks of DB I reduced to 300g. I've been on SA for 4 weeks now, and I find that about 180g is good for me, and I don't wake up looking softer. I am trying to get rid of a bit of stomach fat like you. I've found that working out 5 days a week instead of three has helped, and I don't backload after training when the next day is a non training day. Instead I backload on the the non training day(thanks ibob) to prepare for the next days training. I might only have 100g of carbs on the non training day which is fine.

What's your height/weight bf% Steve?

GnomerParticipantloading up on sodium yesterday.. didn't make any difference whatsoever this morning.. oh well
