ieatbredMemberHi everyone!I'm thinking about making the switch from CBL to CNS and was hoping to get some feedback. First, a little history on the journey so far...I started carb backloading back in Nov of 2012. At the time I weighed 137lbs at 5'11. I was a little guy to say the least! Approx 6 months of backloading I bulked up to 190lbs. Not all of that was muscle, I put on a bit of fat in the process, but overall, I was pretty happy about the gains I made.I was eating 1:1 fat to protien with 400g of carbs on my back loads. Typically a little less fat on my backload days vs rest days. In the beginning of July I decided I wanted to get as lean as possible, shooting for the 7 - 8% body fat. I currently weigh 175lbs, but I lost most of that weight (approx 15 lbs) in the first couple of months of cutting macros. I haven't lost much weight, if any, in the last month, but the tape measurements around my stomach do continue to go down each week. Sometimes not much, but progress is progress! I slowly cut out fat and carbs to the macros I'm currently at. As of right now, my macros are as below. Training Day:Fat 75 - 85gProtien 170 - 180 gCarbs 200Rest DayFat 75 - 85Protein 170 - 180Carbs ~30gI've been at those macros for about 5 to 6 weeks now. Even at the reduced macros, i'm still making some strength gains and haven't noticed any changes in fatigue or sleep. I have no idea what my bf% is now, but if I had to guess probably between 13% - 15% give or take a few.Again, my goal now is strictly focusing on fat loss, hence my thinking of switching to CNS. Do you guys think I should give CNS a try? If I do make the switch, I have some additional questions.1) Should I keep my fat and protein roughly the same for my ULC days as I'm eating now?2) Should I have my carbnite on a training day or a rest day to fuel my leg workout the next day? If I do carb on a training day (M/W/F) do I need to lift earlier in the day? I typically train around 5:30 pm, but my understanding is that the carb nite needs to last 6 - 8 hours. That would make it a pretty late night if I still trained at 5:30pm on carb nite3) Since I'm eating a total of about 600grams of carbs per week, should I aim to eat less than that on my carbnite? That seems to be a lot in one day. I was thinking more like 400grams of carbs.Any input/advice would be much appreciated!

TCBParticipantI'd say if you want to try CNS, go for it. According to Kiefer, you virtually cannot put on fat doing CNS, so at the worst you'll just be out the time that you did the switch. If you do, I'd personally up the fats and drop the protein a little bit. As for carbs to take in on a CN, you're gonna have to do the CN prep phase, so use those results and the CBL chart to guesstimate how many carbs to start at for your CN's.

ieatbredMemberThanks for the feedback. I think I'll give CNS a shot starting next week. Would you recommend 100g of fat and 150g of protein to get started?

Good starting place, probably. As with everything though, you'll have to monitor and tweak. Remember to do the prep phase, though, since you're coming from CBL

CBachelor17Member75-85g of fat with 180g protein is really low IMO. Id personally up those fats to 110-130.
