It was mentioned in a Super Training Article Kiefer had with Mark Bell I believe

I couldn't find it searching "kiefer" on ST.tv  either. I could have SWORN I've seen that you do include it.. Though I suppose it doesn't really make a huge deal. Especially since I only use 30g

Everything I have ever read, heard, or seen mentioned since I started on here has said not to include it. Check out the Vid on Protein to Fat ratio, Kiefer suggests not using protein powders as a source of your protein in that one, but its not the one I was mentioning before. I think that not including it for your totals is more important for AM lifters IMO because this will throw your macros off. I AM and never include it, I dont use any MCT or anything either. Just Isolate Leucine and Creatine.

Personally its a good idea to at least get .8g/BW for protein through whole foods (or the LBM)

See that's why it's weird to me. Cuz in the past with other protocols and general post-workout nutrition cliche, I've always known it to NOT be counted. But I swear I read/heard it somewhere on here, or a podcast or something for CNS/CBL to include it. As usual, though, I'm completely open to being wrong, and I'm not arguing really. Just a head scratcher cuz now I'm wondering where the hell I saw it, ha

I gotcha, please link if you do. I wish i could find the vid where Keifer suggests not counting it toward totals. I could almost quote him saying, “…..your total intake, and this is NOT including your PWO shake….” really wish i could remeber the exact subject matter that would help me find it. But it was when I first started so its been some months…

Ok thanks.  I probably won't bother. I have a question about dextrose. I bought a bag figuring I'd use it on my carb night to avoid eating so much junk. I'm not really sure what to do with it.  Should I just mix it with water and drink it down? How much should I take at a time.

I use my dextrose to sweeten ice tea that I drink during my carb nite or backload.  Allows me to get additional carbs in throughout the evening.  I believe the dextrose is about 80% the sweetness of sugar as a guide.  I also use it to sweeten my coffee during CN/BL as carbs make me sleeeeeeepy, so I always start my CN/BL with a PWO shake and a cup of coffee sweetened with dextrose.  Oh, and I use the dextrose in my PWO shake on CN/BL nights.

I'm a newbie, done my 3rd CN yesterday and I did a search for “PWO shake” because by reading the posts in the forum I've gleaned we should be having a PWO shake.  I did my training before I started eating after 4PM, then had mussels, pasta carbanara with bacon and mushrooms and for dessert I had a chocolate lava cake with butter pecan ice cream.  Next day: Had my bulletproof coffee in AM about 10AM and did HIIT before I had, well, lunch.  No breakfast.  I did 6 sprints in a 30 minute total walk/run session on my treadmill.  Am I supposed to be having this PWO shake after the HITT or after the working on CN  and/or am I supposed to do HIIT a few times a week and have a shake?  I also see how very tailored everyone is getting with their drinks. Do you have any links where I can get an education on the timing and purpose of the PWO shakes.  Thank you.

PWO Shakes arnt as important after doing HIIT, but I personally do 10g Whey Isolate after it. PWO Supplementation is a very broad category, if your doing CN + Weight Training youll just have to search through the forums for that, im not sure where theres a direct thread for that. But buying/reading the CBL book is your best bet, along with watching the DH Q&A's on youtube. Those two combined are pretty educational.
