csquaredosu66KeymasterI am almost on my 3rd Carb nite and I am not losing mych weight? If I am losing body fat, I should be losing some weight…I am 6'4" and started at 294. I can get down to 286-288lbs, but after carb nite, I go right but up? I started doing HIIT everyday this week in the AM and lifting for 45-60 minutes (FST7) in the PM hoping to shed a little more weight. My daily calories range from 2500-2900 a day depending on my hunger for that day. Please HELP!

Richard SchmittModeratorDoing HIIT everyday is causing stress levels (your cortisol) to rise, which will hold onto water and fat. If you're doing FST you should be doing HIIT only the day after a CN and possibly the next. Drop the HIIT, fix your ULC meals. What are you eating? How many times are you getting the gym while on CNS? Working out on CNS can help progress with fat loss, but too much will cause ill effects as you're experiencing. ALSO the scale needs to be throw out unless it's used once a week. Use tape measurements, clothes (the way they fit), pictures, and the mirror. You could be losing fat but putting on muscle.

cloudybrainParticipantI'm going to have to agree with Big Tex, from my own experiment, my weight loss actually halted when I incorporated more HIIT throughout my week. After I let that go, fat % started to decrease. HIIT works only up to a point. I think of it as using HIIT to prevent any carbs being stored as fat. However, Keifer and a few other articles mentioned that for diets like carb backloading, it's preferable to do HIIT before your workout, increases testosterone and mTor receptors, then wait half an hour.. then do your resistance training.Essentially, it's ONLY good depending on your carb intake, and how much your consume. For me, I only do HIIT a day after if I messed up on a ULC day, and go over 30g of carbs. I do like 10 mins. But that doesn't happen that often for me. Just letting you guys know that might be an option if this ever happens to anyone on this diet.

IronDudeMemberYou are overtraining way too much! Iam a pretty big guy to and for me CNS has worked well so far.I only go to the gym 4 times a week for about 45mins 60 if someone has the urge to talk so me... ::)I use Wendlers 5/3/1 program wich works exeptionally well with CNS in my opinion. I very rarely do HIIT and if so only the mornig after my carb nite. I do 35min of HIIT rest for at least 2 hours and then its leg day. This way i go through my glycogen stores really fast. Big Tex is absolutely right considering your training. with CNS you have to really wath out for you central nervous system. Also:Are you eating enough fat and also the right fats?Do you get enough sleep? How much water do you drink? Those can be factors as well.

Fist of all, Thanks for the response.I tried several months without doing morning cardio or HIIT, but I literally felt more tired! HIIT in the moring really gets my blood flowing and I feel better throughout the day.I do HIIT the morning after CN.My meals throughout the day are pretty much regular with a few twists:Wake up, Fast for a few hours then have meal 1:either Fajita chicken and a bunch of onions, peppers or 97/3 lean Hamburger meat with taco seasoning on a Carb balance Mission tortilla (32g of total carbs/26 g of Fiber)Meal 2: Post workout shake. 2 scoops of IsoWheyMeal 3: 7 servings (whole bag) of Pork RindsMeal 4: 6 Oz of chicken thighs and Fresh Asparagus cooked in ButterMeal 5: 3 Servings of Hard SalamiFats for the day were 114g (I dont know the specifics because myfitnesspal does not record all that it should, but I got by the rule the if Sat Fats are more than half the total fats, don't eat)Protein for the day were 209Useable Carbs were 27gTotal calories were 2,292 (I was not very hungry)I throw in Egg Salad Sandwiches with real Mayo (Olive oil made)I also sometimes put coconut oil in my Coffee when I know I wont get as much fats with my meal plans.I try to get a 2:1 ration on my Proteins:FatsWhen I up my calories, I usually add more Proteins...I also get a minimum of 1.5 gallons of water a day. 2.5 the day after CN.I love the Gym...sometimes depressed when I cannot go, but always make it up somehow...I like the diet, because for the most part, I don't feel as hungry as some of the other diets I have been on...with my size, I am a pretty decent BF% 20-24% range. I am very experienced in the weight room.

Richard SchmittModeratorI'd try to swap the ratio in favor of adding more fats. At least closer to your body weight
