I tend to see people talking about fat gain on CBL from using SA or DB and it makes me really question how hard they are training. I am naturally a fat person and on other “diets” in the past if I stray away for a few days I would put on fat. However since going to CBL it is not the case at all. I am following a mix of DB/SA I would say because there are afternoons like this past weekend where I had carbs mid day and didn't workout and not the most ideal meals as a backload and I am not putting on bf and still getting stronger. Also consuming a few beers on each day.I personally think if you are giving 110% in each workout and follow the CBL guidelines it is hard to gain fat while doing CBL. Most of my backloads have been huge lately and it seems to me that some days I can't eat enough lol. I think if you are someone gaining fat and not seeing results it is more than likely your training routine and training intensity than it is the diet.  Just my 2 cents.

It's what you eat, not training. I can train all day long and still not make progress due to what I eat before and after training.

I think even if you're nutrition is on point but your training sucks you're not going to see results either way. I had a friend who would spend a ton of money on supplements, his diet was on point, but had zero progress. I worked out with him and his intensity was of a snail. Told him to actually workout when he worked out and a few weeks after he started seeing progress.I am not trying to take away from the importance of the diet but training style/intensity is nearly as important for this type of diet.

Remember that virtually everything in this field is n=1.

This is a prime illustration of n=1. At least for a bit, different things will work for different people. The key is realizing this and after awhile when you stall/regress, don't come on here and say "I don't know what's wrong. I've been doing the same thing for 3 months and always made progress."
