Using the 9am workout/meal template in the back of the book, Keifer is showing a whey isolate drink as a snack during the ULC portion of the day. Am I wrong, or should this be avoided if following SA protocol due to insulin spike?Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4

I would avoid it for two reasons1) Yes the insulin spike2) Other than PWO, whole foods are optimum, replace the shake with some chicken, or beef IMO

The AM Shake is completely fine but a pure isolate is not ideal other than PWO

Thank you both for your replies. I thought as much and found it odd that this showed up as a snack. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4

I think the 20g may be a misprint, because the 9am prep phase has a protein shake too but with only 10g isolate (which is fine and helps assuage hunger, as per the whey isolate supplement chapter). Whether optimal is another matter, but 10g wouldn't have much effect on insulin levels.

I agree 10g mixed in coffee , thought I saw that as an option in the book 🙂My Journey started 5/13 CNS now starting CBL
