Last night I did some lighter training for me.  Threw on my 30lb weight vest from weightvest.com (shameless plug, I LOVE the company).  I had about a 4×4 space and a pipe to wrap my elastic bands to.  Pumped out a ton of lunges, squats, rows, shoulders and chest, called it quits after 45 -50minutes.  I don’t do PWO shakes, due to timing of when I had dinner 4:30pm.  I had a TON of white fish, no clue what kind due to it being the Navy.  Then my training was around 630pm.  I had plenty  of water all day and night.  And I woke up feeling very hung over.  Is that due to just a normal day of CNS orientation or what?  I did dream of bagels !Further more, am I doing any harm by no PWO shake or could I benefit from a PWO despite my cut off time for eating due to IF already started.  thanks

There isn't any harm by not taking a PWO Shake, but you'll greatly benefit by taking one after a resistance training session.

imho during orientation phase i'd limit or completely stop working out till you are done with it.. you probably move around plenty on the ship.. if anything i'd just do some light weight or bodyweight stuff

Also could be that you didn't get enough fats in, white fish is usually lean although it depends on the type of course, maybe your protein to fat ratio was off resulting in your body getting energy via gluconeogenesis?

Gotcha thanks!  I"m sure my fats are LOW compared to what they should be.  I guess with almond intake, and whenever we have something fatty on board.  It's been weird the past couple days, nothing fatty to eat!  And I don't have any oils.  Tonight we are having sausages, so easy fat intake there.  I think I'll have to start showing up to breakfast JUST to grab bacon.

    Most likely a gluten intolerance.

But seriously, most likely this.  Or, as others have said before, it is an orientation which means you should expect some changes.  See if it happens again or multiple times again and then reassess.  Fatigue/hung over-ness could be caused by multiple factors.PWO shakes are simply meant for convenience (studies going both ways, but all in all it comes down to whether you need to supplement your protein intake).  I am confused, however, about your fasting window starting at 1630...do you eat next at 0430?

My feed time 11am to 430pm, at time 530 IF dinner was so bad on the ship and I need to get a shake in me.  I I fast from rounded up 6pm until 11am the next day, typically 17 hours between my last meal (dinner) and my lunch the next day.  It really aids in stopping boredom eating.
