Dextrose-Form and Function

    I don't know if it was mentioned, but it stood out to me and I had to correct it.Keifer recommend possibly controlling fructose intake, not glucose. When he says sugar he means sucrose.

    Im referring to a Q&A with Keifer where he states that people under <10% looking to drop further while still making Muscle/Strength gains need to be much more specific on the type of carbohydrates they use. Carbs are sugar yes. But the molecular structure of potato starch is much different than a simple sugar such as Dextrose. So it will have a different metabolic effect on the body. He doesn't say in black in white that simple sugars should be used less, but based off that Q&A, other statements, and my body im going to try to avoid them as much as possible, while still using them along side high glycemic starch sources. I just dont want pure sugar like Ice Cream and Corn Derived Dextrose. Jelly on Toast for example Ill still do. I just want to try to cut it down and see what happens.

Which I plan to, taking in 100g+ of sugar 4-5 days a week is not good for you, I dont care what form of training your partaking in, or what nutrition regiment you are on.

    Opinion? It's not opinion that some form of ice cream belongs in everybody's diet. 😛

    Going beyond that fact, avoiding sugar where possible is going to be a healthier option when maintaining this diet long term. Which I plan to, taking in 100g+ of sugar 4-5 days a week is not good for you, I dont care what form of training your partaking in, or what nutrition regiment you are on.

    This makes no sense! Sugar (glucose) is what we run on. Why would that ever be bad for us? Theres nothing inherently bad about sugar. The only time it could be considered bad in my books would be when its a major source of nutrition and its coming from processed foods devoid of vitamins and minerals. And only then when its displacing the good nutrient dense foods you should be eating as well. A good example of "bad sugar" would be the lady in New Zealand who died at like 20-30odd who used to drink 8-10litres of coke a day. Very little other nutrition. She felt sick all the time (duh) for months before she died. Of course the media jumped on it "see, cokes bad because of all the sugar" NO ITS FUCKING NOT! Its bad when thats ALL you ever get in your diet, chronically. If you are eating mostly nutrient dense foods meats, dairy, fruits, some vegetables etc then having sugar is just adding energy to the equation. Excess energy could be a problem in itself, but thats not restricted to sugar or any other sole macronutrient.

Like I said beyond all of this, it generally leaves me feeling odd the next day, I noticed it while on CNS when I would have large amount of sugar, I tried a few CN's with just pizza, bread, and rice and didnt have that effect, or as much gas the next day.

    Enzyme changes dont occur over night. Restricting a food/macro then SLAMMING the digestive tract with an unusual food is bound to cause GI distress. This sounds just as bad to me as Vegetarians I've known saying "I cant eat meat anymore even if I wanted to because it gives me bloating and gas!" I thought you were on CBL though? If you are on CBL eating carbs every day or even every other day your enzymes should be perfectly ready to handle sugars.All this said, give it a try and dont be afraid to change something if it doesnt work. Hell if it does work (and you didnt just drop calories!) Ill be the first to praise your foodoo magic (:

    I love that line... Of fucking course it gives you bloating and gas... You've killed off the bugs needed to process that food, and downregulated your natural production of the enzymes to process it by cutting it out! Crazy damn plant eaters..  😮

    haha thanks. Yea I was on CNS for 3 months im just tranisitioning to CBL. So all this is regarding use for CBL protocols

    I like the little anecdote at the end. Whats so amazing about a child (or anyone for that matter) eating all the ice cream in a bowl after an alledgedly satisfying meal? This is just nature at work. The body isnt stupid enough to turn down a easy source of calories like that. Anyone who claims to have stopped eating ice cream half way through a normal serving is just weird IMO! Unless, of course, it tastes like shit (;Yeah its individual, but Id wager it comes down to "diet history", mental conditioning (i.e being indoctrinated into one extreme view or another) more so than actual differences in physiological processes.
