Hello,Someone told me about beta alanine today and that it helps with improving performance. Has anybody tried this supplement before? If so, could you share the benefits or side effects that you've encountered? Thanks

Stack it with creatine pre-workout and you should get a nice little boost of energy. Some people report feeling an all-over-tingly feeling (a flush) that some enjoy. My buddy feels itchy, though. I personally don't feel anything other than getting warm faster, which I like because I like to lift with a sweat going.

it's pretty cheap if you buy in bulk.. the powder itself has almost no tastei use this onehttp://www.ebay.com/itm/1-1lb-500g-100-BETA-ALANINE-POWDER-KOSHER-RECOVER-HPLC-PHARMACEUTICAL-USP-/260947781488?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cc1b32770

It's good if you do a lot of work above 5 reps.  Since I am a powerlifter, I don't get much out of it, but it helps on the assistance work a bit.  If you are a bodybuilder and do most of your sets with 8+ reps, you will get a lot out of it.

i bought the bulk powder. I also bought l-taurine powder. Apparently it helps so that you wouldn't need to cycle it?

Bumping this thread.Does anybody have any dosing recommendations for BA that is more up to date?  I currently do 4.6 g pre-workout based on a study I read years ago.

from what I have read it's better to split doses.. so like 3g pre workout then 3g at another time in the day

It won't hurt to take it daily, but I am not sure if it's necessary.  I would say take it daily if you only train three times a week.  If you train five or six days a week, you could probably get away with only taking it pre workout.

hah. i work out 4 days a week. 2 on, 1 off, 2 on, 2 off. i'll just mix it in with my daily creatine and see how i feel.
