Which one should I do?

    Hi all! I am currently on the Anabolic diet. Seriously considering Carb Nite or Carb Backloading. However, I am not sure which to do. Primarly, I want to lower my BF. However, I would like to gain some muscle as well. I am 5'9, 192lbs. According to my Omiron, my BF% is around 18.6% – 19.5%. Would like some suggestions from some experienced CN & CBL peeps…Thanks!

    Whats your training like currently?If your lifting hard-frequently you might want to go with CBL-SA. This will let you cut fat and gain muscle. CN is going to cut fat, maintain muscle, and possibly gain strength. Based on your goals as defined. Sounds like CBL-SA is what your looking for.

    I mainly Crossfit. However, on the Anabolic Diet I was Crossfitting during the week and strength training on the weekends.

    Honestly, if you do Crossfit you will likely feel better, preform better, and while it may take slightly longer, get better results from doing CBL.

    Agreed. Cross-fit and CN would probably be pretty rough.

    What is your WOD frequency?  I'm doing  CNS and I Crossfit 2-3 days a week, but I add an additional carb nite for the weeks I do higher volume.  If you do 4-5 WODs a week you may try a carb nite Sunday and another on Wednesday or Thursday.  In this 6-week phase of CNS I'm down 22lbs, though I couldn't give you relative percentages of BF.  CNS and Crossfit do work, but you have to tweak it to make sure you're receiving adequate glycogen replenishment from metcons.  Also I tend to avoid hero WODs and chippers like the Filthy 50 when on CNS, since those are much more competition-oriented tests vs. training, and are not supported well on ULC unless they are the only WOD you do that week.

    I normally follow the online WOD's as I built my own CF gym in my garage. On Anabolic, I normally do a pretty intense WOD on Mondays and Tuesdays. My off day is usually Thursday or Friday. On the weekend when I carb load, I train very heavy. More like a Chest and Back Saturday. Legs, Shoulders, Arms on Sunday.I normally dont do Hero WOD's, unless it falls on a Monday. If thats the case, I will scale it down a bit so I wont kill myself for the next day.BTW, great job on the weight loss and thank you for the advice!

    I second the whole CBL being the better option thing..And you say you mainly follow the online WODs. If by that you mean main site, I'd stop. Their programming sucks. I'd switch to following something like Outlaw's programming. You'll see better gains.

    Checked the Outlaw programming. Not sure if I follow it clearly. Do they do a Strength and Crossfit related w/o a day? Does anyone here follow it?

    Personally, I'd use their other website.. http://theoutlawway.comIt has their blog posts that often explain stuff about the workouts.And yes. Any smart programming will have a strength component and a conditioning component the majority of the time. One of the many many reasons Crossfit.com's programming is atrocious.HQ has become all about the beat down factor.. ie: how much you can do and still survive. That isn't smart training. A much smarter method is to have a strength component so you... shocker--get stronger, ha.. And then a conditioning component. But what's important also is that the conditioning component will RARELY, if ever, exceed 15 min. Less than 10 min all out is the most ideal.I've never followed Outlaw's programming, but I've seen it, and heard Rudy Neilson talk about the concepts behind it and it's smart. Plus I think like 4 of the top 10 from the Games this year follow his stuff.
