mwachtelParticipantSo at the 14 hr mark I “broke” my fast with one strip of bacon…is this enough? I'd like to put my calories later, but when I eat an appreciable meal, it seems I get hungrier, and working in a kitchen with access to large amounts of bacon and C.O., and meat does not help lol.

Just one strip? Technically it breaks the fast, but you need more. Eat six strips and you will be set. You won't be doing yourself and favors by fasting longer than 14 hours.

Like I said, just the one strip b/c when i eat a meal of substance, it like triggers more hunger an hour later.Im trying to put the calories later, but it sucks working in a kitchen all day.Do i just have to suck it up?What about sometihng like 3 strips and more coconut oil? would that be enough? I'm just looking for something smaller, that doesn't set off more hunger shortly after

We are really concerned about the protein to keep mTOR open. If you keep going a really long time without protein you are shutting down muscle growth, which is going to make CBL less effective. Eat a fat + protein meal, it won't get stored as fat. Try to get at least a solid 20 g of protein and some fat along with it. Trying to cram all of your calories in the backload or even at night if it is an ULC day, is not the best way to approach CBL.

Lesli BortzParticipantEating 4-6 pieces of bacon at a time tends to curb my appetite. I think if I ate only one I'd crave it like crazy!!!I sometimes eat up to a pound a day so a few strips is no big deal!

Yea love bacon, if you look at my log you'll see its a staple, for me, eating something smaller wont trigger the hunger. My solution come back later from work, and have a bacon and coconut oiil salad at 11:00 ;D, push the 14 then eat my first meal at noon. not including my Kiefer coffee.

It helps that i usually eat double digit #'s of bacon daily, so its become much less of a treat, and much more of STABLE IN MY DIET. Actually, I know this sounds terrible, but Bacon, Im pretty sure, has a decent amount of monosaturated fats percentage. im wondering if I should maybe tame it down a bit.......that would be difficult.

Gl;itch.eMemberWhat is this 1 strip of bacon you speak of? As far as I'm concerned there's only one way to measure bacon and that's by the package. i.e one package contains one meal REGARDLESS of weight!!!

I am a New Zealander and Bacon is about the same as any other form of meat. Maybe a little cheaper if you buy larger packages. Brought a Kilo today for $20 NZD which is about $16 USD

Well, unforetuneatly, Bacon is said to be going up (it is), b/c of a shortage of corn, which is a big part of their feed.Another good reason to go boar hunting!

That's what i heard also. Grass fed beef is cheaper for me... 1 pound of that is a great ULC for me and yields around 1700 cal when it's all said and done 🙂 bacon is damn expensive
