thats odd I find it pretty much impossible to even maintain my weight on ULC days.

Just wanted to add that eating a surplus on ULC days just made me gain fat. Just the same as it did during my prep phase. must have something to do with fat being stored more readily. Will eat in a defecit ULC from now on.

What were your food sources? types of fats/proteins?

I eat only animal fat sources such as bacon, lamb and MCT. That's not the problem. It's definitely calories - saw it enough times now. Everytime I ate too much on ULC, i'd get puffy and fat. Every time i ate in a deficitĀ  i'd look cut. Which makes perfect sense because being in a deficit would force my body to seek more energy from the my fat stores. Eating too much and it would store it.Honestly this works for me. It's something I picked up from leangains anyway - cycling calories between deficit and surplus on off/on days.

Are you not following the 1:1 protein fat ratio and getting a gram of protein per pound of bodyweight? That would put most people in a deficit. Example 180lb dude gets 180g of fat and 180g of protein which would equal 2340cals.

Yeh I was, but sometimes went over it when people tell me to not be in a defecit and I trusted their judgement... Have also gone over it accidentally quite often because I am so skinny at 145 lbs.. Eating 145/145 is like NOTHING. Still leaves me hungry haha.Time to gain some mass.
