So…I finished up day 1 of the prep phase yesterday and felt pretty good, but because I was working, I had to use some online estimates for food breakdowns.  I finished the day thinking I just made it under 30 g, but today I compared my calculations with the actual packaging and it looks like I came in closer to 35 - 37 g of carbs.  Did I just screw up the day and will I have to restart with today being day 1 instead of day 2?  I did train yesterday if that makes any difference.  It also looks like I'm down 1.5 lbs. Thanks!Ben

You'll be fine.I get almost 0 carbs per day on ULC days. Most people seem to do best the closer to zero carbs they get.

When I started ULC years ago the hardest thing for people to grasp is no fruit. “That can't be healthy, I would never do that”. RB

That's one thing I'm not a huge fan of with ULC.  I love fruit, but since I've been doing CBL (only a month) I've hardly had any.  It's a bit annoying because of all the fruit that's in season now.

@RB Too right! I crave fruit when I walk past a stall and smell it, and I used to eat packets of apples and 5 bananas in one day. Combine that with whole grains and it took me up to 27% BF!

I go No veg and No fruit! I used to have veg everyday, but on CN it soon adds up on your carb total. I just found it easier to do without. That way I stick below 10g carbs a day normally. I don't want to go anywhere near the 30 mark. If you stick to a lower number you give yourself room to miss calculate and still come under.

i like this!i not going near anything with a carb though, or trying anyway as my diet was so close to prep phase as it is, i carbed up the last few days, filled up on junk food massive binge so there would be some difference on the delta chart, good idea or silly?

Thanks for the replies.  What got me that first day was carbs in places I didn't expect.  For example, I had a couple eggs and later read the carton and found each one had 1g carbs, the bacon had .5 g each slice, and the sausage I had also had 1 g each.  I also had some veggies. Initially when looking at each item I was going to eat and seeing 1 g/2 g/.5 g, etc it didn't look to bad, but man they add up fast..  Cutting out veggies and watching everything else gets me under 20 easily.

Aside from water, is there anything that doesn't have some amount of carbs? People always used to ask me how I could eat zero carbs, and I used to tell them that zero is impossible, but I go as low as possible.RB
