So I am wanting to get started on the carb loading diet. I understand the basics but just ned help with a few questions…1. I work out 5 days a week. However I can only do 2 evening workouts (4-6pm... sweet spot) and I have to do 3 morning workouts (6am). In other words... Mon- 6amWednesday- 6amThursday-4PMFriday- 6amSaturday-4PmHow should I backload for these days since it is a mixture of morning and evening workouts?2. I love coffee... rather I love coffee with creamer. I usually take coffee with sugar free creamer... I however realize that the last ingredient on sugar free creamer is Acesulfame K. Do I need to give this up or is there not enough of it to matter? The reason I ask is because I HATE BLACK COFFEE!!!! I had rather gulp down a pack of blended cigarettes in water. ANy suggestions? Do I just need to suck it up?3. Im not planning on falling off the wagon, but what happens if I backslide and take one day and have carbs for lunch? Would I need to go through the 7-10 prep phase again? 4. Roughly how many days do you think you would have to be off the wagon before a prep phase is needed? Sorry if i sound like a pansy... just trying to understand what Im getting into... Got an upcoming vacation I need to consider 🙂

    1. Thank for reply… Did you mean backload tuesday night to fuel wednesday's session? I don't workout on Tuesdays… Also, what about Sunday nights since I will be working out monday morning?2. I've never tried heavy whipping cream in my coffee without creamer. Not sure if I would like t or not, I need to try it... Does it sweeten the taste?3. Thats the plan... I guess I was asking for myself and for those that I train... I know this a question that will come up... I wasn't sure what I would say if they messed up one day. I would probably tell them to just get back on track but I don't think I would tell them to do another 10 day prep phase if they only messed up one day... Unless you guys think they should... Thoughts?4. I shall gorge till my heart is content on vacation and then prep phase afterwards... thanks  😉

    1) Ah shoot, yeah that's what I meant. My mistake. Yeah you can do that if you feel is necessary. 2) it gives a decent fat source in coffee plus it can sweeten it if you add some to it. 3) Since you train, and did a prep-phase already, 7 days should be more than enough. 4) You're most welcome. Hoped I helped out a bit. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

It really depends on how hard you fall off the wagon.  I mean you are supposed to keep carbs below 30g per day, but 50g is not going to do significant harm.  400g though, will probably half way refill your glycogen stores.  A couple days of that and you're working in reverse.  If you just take a second to think before eating something, it shouldnt be too hard to stay relatively low carb.  And then it depends on how long your vacation is.You should still try to keep the early part of your day ultra low carb, and eat whatever carbs you eat at night.  Also, I don't know what kind of vacation but could there be a gym nearby?  You don't have to spend an hour in there everyday of your vacation but a little weight lifting could help.

Im on my 2nd day of Prep Phase. So I tried my coffee this morning with only whipping cream and it tasted like a pack of old dirty socks. So I settled and added some sugar free coffee creamer even though it has some Ace K in it. Anyway, I went and picked up some packets of “splenda” because I heard from Kiefer that it is okay to have in your coffee. However when reading the packet, it says that it contains “dextrose and maltodextrin in it. Doesn't that spike insulin? Any thoughts how to sweeten coffee without spiking insulin?

buddy, it takes about 4 packets of splenda to get 1g carbs.  so if you use 2 packets in your coffee you have nothing to worry about.cheers!

by the way, i just found this:http://propanefitness.com/does-acesulfame-k-spike-insulin/conclusion is pretty much that you'd have to drink a RIDICULOUS amount of diet soda to even get the slightest insulin output from the acesulfame K... i think we can consume diet soda without second thoughts...

    3. Im not planning on falling off the wagon, but what happens if I backslide and take one day and have carbs for lunch? Would I need to go through the 7-10 prep phase again? Takes about 4 days eating carbs for your body to revert back to using carbs as your primary energy source. Shouldn't be a problem to just get right back to it. I wouldn't use that as an excuse though, I mean this shits easier than any other nutrition plan I've ever followed.

I'm a big coffee drinker and don't prefer black either.  Try the Heavy Whipping Cream, Coconut Oil and a pack of Sweat Leaf.  Mix it with a battery operated aerolatte (you can get online or bed bath beyond +/-20)  to ensure a good even mix.  Voila!!

What kind of coffee are you buying?  Honestly if you really love coffee, its worth the money to buy a better quality coffee - also you might try not making it quite as strong, cut back on the amount you put in to make a pot.  You'll be surprised how quickly you learn to like the taste of really good coffee - I use 1tbsp HWC, 1 tbsp Coconut Oil and blend with a hand blender thingy that makes it frothy and latte like.  The only time I add anything to coffee anymore is if I drive through Starbucks...they'll do heavy whipping cream, but they burn their beans so its kind of bitter...1 packet of splenda tends to help with that.

What about stevia? Wouldn't that be a better choice? Or is there some downside to stevia that I haven't heard about?
