5/3/1 deload

    how necessary are these, and by this i mean can i do the deload but still continue my normal hypertrophy program, the one im using for “assistance” moves

    Only do a deload if you feel run down, otherwise you can just keep on going.Frequent deloads are only really needed for people who have terrible recovery and very experienced lifters using very, very heavy weights.

    If I was running 5/3/1 I would deload every other cycle.  If you are a newer lifter, I would deload every three cycles or whenever you hit a wall.
