Hello all:I just finished the book, and the prep phase.  I lost 7 lbs during the prep phase.  That was with no carbs and my current level of 300g of protein each dayI plugged that into the chart, and it says I need 636 carbs a a baseline.  That is a TON, do I do that every time I backload.  Thats like 6 pieces of pizza or 4-5 cupcakes, and if I wanted to eat clean I would have to eat like 12 bananas.  That just doesn't seem right.Other than that I understand the protein intake and such.  Any help that can be provided about specifics with the mount of carbs during backload would be great.  ThanksIf it helps, I am 6'5" 200lbs, and my current pre-backloading macros set up is 7 meals 50p/40c/15f each meal train 4 times a week. Thanks!

First, 300g of protein is WAY to much.At that point the extra protein just gets turned to glucose. At 200lbs you only need 150-200gs.As for the carbs, that number is your upper limit, not your goal. You will still need to find your sweet spot for what works best.My delta number is about 750, my sweet spot is 350-500g.

Thanks! That clears things up a lotAs for the 300g protein, thats how much I was consuming when I was working with Shelby S. So I just stuck with that during the prep phase

300g is fine if you're wanting to gain mass. If you're trying to just maintain or drop, go with 150-200.

The science of CBL changes things a bit with how efficiently macros are used in the body.  Shelby's amount of recommended protein works well with his system but CBL is an entirely different system with different requirements.  I would stick to the lower end of the recommendations in the books if you're backloading for fatloss and start with the higher end if you looking for mass gain.
