Kerrygold is a pretty common butter that is grass fed. I get my butter from a local farmer, but I bought one in a grocery store it would be Kerrygold.

IronFreakShowGuestwhat is it in butter that I should be looking for, versus what I should stay away from? I will use the crap out of butter if I know what I'm using is safe. I'm in the second half of my pre-load phase, I've used a little butter but I want to make sure I'm not using anything that will adversely affect my goals.

The reason using grass-fed (ie kerrygold) is best is because it has a better omega 3:6 ratio and it has more CLA in it. To be honest though I'd use any butter non-stop even if it wasn't grass-fed, it still beats most other oils from a health stand point.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorCheck to make sure it's real butter and not a butter imitation or butter cut with another oil.

Most of the time It's not, but I think they might have some real butter amidst the rest of the crap. Although it's been a long time since I've bought any.

nickl413MemberI know a lot of people here on the forum do that, as well as many bulletproof followers. It's not bad, Just don't go overboard if you want it to be an AM accelerator. 🙂
What is the downside to overloading butter?
I remember Naomi saying somewhere on these forums, something about an insulin spike with the bulletproof coffee?.......

DefianceMemberInstead of jumping on the joke wagon, I'll just clear this up since it seemed someone was confused about it:Butter does not come from plants. It comes from magical mammalian creatures called "Cows". Of course, not all butter is created equal. Many producers add plant fats and plant oils to their butter. You want to avoid those kinds, as they are often full of palm-oil and other crap.100% pure grass fed butter for the win!
