storm47MemberDoes anyone know if taking medically prescribed Adderall for ADD and testosterone gel for low testosterone before “A.M. Fasted Training” or during “12 Hour Fast” will affect the results?

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorThere is no reason it should have negative effects. It might have some positives.

storm47MemberLast month after my “A.M. Fasted Training” with Adderall and testosterone gel, I had a PWO shake with 25g carbs (per the CBL ebook) then I had my blood drawn to test my testosterone levels. My testosterone levels were within the normal range. So, I wonder if my testosterone increased above normal range during training then lowered after training and PWO shake. Or how the testosterone gel affects my cortisol or HGH levels during training or 12 hour fasting.

maxwkwMemberI'd do the testosterone gel after your workout and shower. Otherwise you might sweat it off before its fully absorbed.

imakillerrGuestAre you a drinker (alcohol)? My doc had me on AndroGel for a while for low testosterone; after over a year of therapy I learned (from Robb Wolf's podcast) about the effects of alcohol on testosterone production (Keifer's post support this).... Turns out I didn't need testosterone therapy; I just needed to quit boozing so much (or at least have my labs done on a day that wasn't right after a binge-drinking night!)

storm47Memberimakillerr,Thanks for replying with your low testosterone experience. I stopped drinking alcohol and my testosterone was still low. I believe that my low testosterone was caused by either getting old and now I am age 42. Or for five years in my mid 30's, my doctor recommended Propecia to prevent hair loss in the future but I had no signs of hair loss. I took Propecia for almost 3 years then I read that it affects your hormones. I stopped that Propecia and then several months later had my testosterone checked and I had low testosterone. I read that a lot of men experience permanent low testosterone after stopping Propecia. I have no taken Propecia for almost 3 years now and I still have no signs of hair loss and I still have low testosterone . I should have never taken my doctors advice!
