So during prep phase and ULC days ratio is 1:1 say my protein at the end of the day is 180grams (very easy to do) and my fat is sitting at 120grams after my last meal, is it nesacery to add fats e.g cream, mct, oils etc to even it to the 1:1 ratio, my thinking is just adding fats just for the sake of it WILL cause more increase in a “spill over” or the dredded word “gaining fat” because weather we focus on calories or not, that is alot of extra calories we are adding in!! and yes i know how easy it is to add fats, but this is just for instance and has happened a couple days due to enjoying some breast lol

Try keep the individual meals 1:1 I couldn't imagine trying to sup back some butter before bed lol yuckKeeping the meals equal just stems any insulin release from the foods. You won't get spill over from fat, that's a term used for access carbs as far as I know. 🙂

i hear you barking big dog, its yeah just the last few days been a wee bit hard to balance the fat and protein! so do i bang more down at the end of the day or is that plain silly? and also we should shoot for more fat at the end of the day? correct? oh such dilemmas in life lolalso, while where on the subject of fats, really what are the bad fats, because there is some! im guessing some plant oils yes?

Just try to avoid plant fats where possible. Me, I don't have any. Except maybe on a carbnite hidden in some food.In carb backloading you'll have most of your fat first part of the day keeping your meals 1:1. After workouts or in evening keep fat pretty low until later in the night. For example maybe first couple of meals sensible then maybe have a pizza or some donuts ect.Ulc days keep them as close to equal as possible all day.

haha I did the same last night.  My PWO shake without a backload left my protein pretty high so I had some decaf w/ lots of cream and coconut oil to add some fat.To OP:  The extra fat will aid in recovery, but I don't know whether the raised insulin from higher protein damage is already done.  Try to focus more on each meal rather than the whole day.Doing this every once in a while won't be too bad, just don't make a habit of it.  If you realize it just after a meal, then I would consider downing some quick fat(extra fish oil pills maybe?).

Nope no need to add more fat.  Really it is the ratio per meal that matters, not the overall ratio for the day.  Just don't consume a chicken breast by itself.  Personally I do a little bit better from a digestive standpoint when the ratio is slightly in favor of protein.  I notice no difference as far as fat loss goes.

I wasn't eating enough on my ULC carb days. Was getting 150g of each (I'm 145lbs) but wasn't gaining weight despite being getting 100g of each in the first part of the day followed by 350-400g carbs after training 4 nights a week.I've increased ULC days to 200g of each throughout 3 meals and my weight is starting to increase.
