Ok so basically started CBL DB about 3 weeks ago and pretty much massacred it, great gains but bacloading 500g of carbs 5 days a week for two of the weeks abd eating about 1:2.5 fat to protein during the day has fattened me up a good bit, October 10th170 pounds 7%bfOctober 30th188 pounds 11%bf So i was thinking of doing a carb nite week basically for 5-7 days then start backloading properly will all the info ive gotten from big text, big r, ibob and other knowledgeable members?Does this make any sense? Any advice is appreciated and welcome! Thanks guys!

I would see how much of it is water weight. Do a prep-phase for the whole 10 days, and see how much weight you drop. I have a feeling that you are holding onto a lot of water eating that amount of carbs, and being light. You could start CBL SA after using the charts in the back of the book. 18 pounds in twenty days is good work though!

Haha thanks man and yeah agreed about the water but i kinda was thinking of just doing 7 days cause 10 days takes me to my scheduled rest day and i tens to get very week without any carbs for that long and i worked so samn hard for these PRs and I wanna keep em going!

I would suggest lifting as close to your last "refeed" as possible, and as your hatred for life from no carbs starts, just try and get some HIIT in.

Ok man so basically the 10 days is absolutely necessary? If so i wont be ignorant and ill give it a go! Just gonna have to bring my training volume down as i get closer to the 10 days mark

Just to be safe its always recommended. Its just another variable that you can cross off your list when things stall.

How are you measuring BF%? If you are using an accurate method then youve essentially gained 9lbs of lean body mass and 9lbs of fat. Thats a pretty decent gain especially for such a short period of time. Honestly if Muscle Mass is your main concern I would ride out the gains longer before cutting. You may end up just spinning your wheels if you go ULC too frequently. If anything I would try a "control day" once a week (non training day) where you eat ULC. Or if you feel thats not enough you could do a Strength Accumulation type plan one week out of every four or so. But really I would just ride out the gains as long as possible and then go to SA to recomp rather than CNS too soon.

Hey man thanks for the reply!Yes i am using the "bodpod" at my university and thats quite possible as i am mot natural at the moment and i was pretty depleted at 7 percent! Yea durig those 2 weeks i was doing two ulc days a week(wednesday, sunday) and backloading 350 grams minimum the other 5 days. So if you were me right now what would you do and change?

LOL. Ok I have zero experience with Anabolics of any kind but Id be inclined to push the mass gains as hard as possible. My thinking being that A. your hormonal state (coupled with CBL) should help you maximise muscle while minimising fat B. no matter what you do some of the gains are going to be lost when you come off and therefore Id want some "buffer" or wiggle room so I wasnt completely disappointed at the other end. After "going off" Id probably stay with a SA type plan so as to support the maintenance of the muscle gained as much as possible while slowly recomping.

Ok sound good those are good alternatives my issue is at 9lbs of fat every two weeks I'm only just starting my cycle so i have 12 weeks left so 54 more pounds of fat would not be ideal haha so i think ill go ahead with just 7 days ulc to drop some water then transition to SA/DB mix where I would still not backload off days, smaller backloads of about 300g on training days but i will still eat a proper breakfast at 12 hour fast mark. How does that sound?

if you could put on 54 pounds of muscle and keep it in 12 week I wouldnt worry about the fat. But that is a huge gain and not realistic for anyone. The fat gain will probably level off. Its most likely come on that fast based on how lean/deprived you were previously and how quickly and how big of a jump in calories/carbs you likely used.

Haha yeah thats true well should i do this 7 day ulc just to tighten up a bit then start a modified DB in a weeks time, or should i just continue on now with smaller backloads and 2 ulc carb days per week?

I would continue on as normal. Too many tweaks and youll never know whats going to work best. Really you should have had your diet sorted long before you added any anabolics. Im not particularly comfortable giving advice for a scenario I havent had at least some experience with. Its hard to say how you are going to react.

Yeah fair enough my diet was sorted I had a regular bodybuilding set out for me but then I bought the CBL book and everything changed lol but ok I will tame down the backloads and continue on thanks for the advice man!
