mczx1MemberI'm pretty sure his suggestion was 1 gram of protein per lb of LBM as well. I'm not coming close to that, but I'm I still try to get as much as I can. I don't live and die by it.Ashamed to say at 226 pounds my LBM was only about 131 pounds per DEXA.Are you sure what your LBM really is? I would have never guessed myself so low in LBM.

I've never been able to meet those requirements. I don't think I can eat 286 grams of protein a day if I tried. That plus his recommendation of .5 grams of fat per gram of protein would put me at 143 grams of fat and 286 grams of protein per day.

I agree. I cannot and do not want to eat that much protein a day.I suppose if your a 5 days a week hardcore athlete, you could ingest more protein. If you find enough sources to read, you will eventually see that the ultra high protein advice, is basically a myth and bro-science.That being said. I would love to hear Keifer's reasoning for advising very high protein intake on the CNS.As far as strict keto diet information goes, by very qualified authors, protein is to be moderate. As stated earlier but another poster, .8 grams per pound of lean body mass, is probably going to be perfect. For me, lightly active, that is 104 grams of protein, which is right about where I have been.Good fat loss and no loss of strength, as measured by a stopwatch on max lifts weekly. In fact, actually I seem to have made strength gains. However, I am not going to be crushed if the next Dexa scan shows a slight loss of lean mass.

I agree, as evidenced is his "Tubecast" here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOJmaNQ2gOUI wish there was a way to assure all new buyers of the book, had access to this newer data.

Justin GuimondParticipantStop focusing on your scale so much, is my advice. You may think that you are taking a week to lose the weight from the Carb Nite, but I would wager that it is the carb-water-weight that you're counting, not fat. Use the mirror, not the scale. Be patient, and give it a few weeks before you make any drastic changes.
