Igor VidovicParticipantI usually use CO in coffee to break the 12 hr fast. Now as far as the lunch goes you're gonna have to play around with it. I'm 215 and right now I have for lunch 1/2-1 LB of bacon one burger patty with 2-3 eggs fried in bacon fat. Some days I have less some more just depends how I'm feeling. Maybe some spinach or something green once in a while. Best thing about this diet is you're always tweaking stuff a bit and keeping it fun.Hope this helps man

Cory McCarthyMemberI typically wake, drop back 16 oz. black coffee (no oil or any fat). Then continue my fast until my first meal, around noon.I use 16 oz. black coffee + 1 tbsp coconut oil before working out.Cory

why before you workout Cory.... Just curious. why would you not do it in the morning like after your second cup of coffee. I can understand getting that first cup down to freaking wake up. Believe you me. I understand that.Since Saturday I've been taking in the Coconut Oil and I've noticed my knees feeling better. Forgot to mention that I have arthritis bad in my knee and back and I've noticed less pain. Just wondering why before working out you take the CO.

That is good about the arthritis man! As far as taking it Pre workout, Coconut oil has a type of triglyceride called a medium-chain triglyceride (MCT). From my understanding, these are quickly metabolized in the liver, and some people report it giving them an energy boost.

+1Yes, for energy... as well as a nice boost in strenght (kid you not). Works wonders before martial arts, as well. The reason I refrain from fat in the AM, is I find it breaks my fast -- even the tiniest bit... and my fat loss stalls. When I cut to just black coffee (specifically 16 oz.), my fat loss re-ignited.I get plenty of fat during my meals, but they are after my 12 hour fast.Everyone is different, tweak for your body's reactions.Cory

RoaringMad MacMemberOkay good deal. I will look into that. I do drink a cup of coffee about an hour before I go workout so I will try that as well. Not today mind you LOLHell I have enough fat in reserve for quick energy boosts right now. Like finding oil. If I needed to tap into that for energy and quick energy reserves. I'd be a tycoon.

feritasGuestI recall keifer recommending the coconut oil in coffee immediately upon waking to boost fat burning and to help the body enter a state of ketogenesis quicker. I believe he says that in the CBL book, one tablespoon of coconut or mct oil should not brake your fast and should help with fat burning and energy in the morning.

Yep, he did. Works for some people, but nothing is one-size-fits-all.For whatever reason, fat in my morning coffee (during my fast), slowed my progress to a halt.Cory

Yeah, I think its safest to hold it until the 12hr-fasted mark. Plain coffee beforehand.
