thrownullpointerMemberThe Anabolic Diet, the Cycle Diet, Shitloading, Skiploading etc etc all involve periods of overfeeding, slamming high GI carbs (and some fats) over a period of time. Where is the disconnect here that CBL is from another planet? If you do that 4 times a week of course you will get fat, I do it 1 time a week with 2 small backloads and look BOSS right now. Thrownullpointer, I like good debates and find it interesting, but you are bordering on trolling by attacking Kiefer's credentials on his own board.
I already pointed out what you're saying... I already said a lot of CBL is not new or unique! However certain claims might not be that true. Kiefer says "Don't worry about fat". Other carb-cycling diets advocate keeping fat low...

thrownullpointerMemberhttp://www.dangerouslyhardcore.com/1733/hi-tech-nutrient-conversion-lessons-for-carb-back-loading/This article should clear up some of the issues discussed on this thread.
It really doesn't. Also a lot of kiefers references use rodents as in rats. I am not a rat and many mechanisms in humans are substantially different from rats...
You started a thread that is basically a challenge to everyone doing this diet. That in itself isn't always a bad thing, but the way it was delivered is going to stir up a lot of negative responses because all of your arguments/points are given in what comes off as a very condescending tone. Perhaps you would get the healthy debate you claim to be looking for if you would respond in a more objective way. Otherwise, the people on this forum are going to assume you're a troll at best.
No, not really. You're misunderstanding the whole thread. If you don't care what people like Lyle or Aragon have to say then this thread isn't a challenge to you. If you believe in kiefer 100% it is time to move on and stop reading.I try to be objective, but i'm only human. If you don't like what I have to say just ignore me it'll save you some time.I have been using CBL somewhat successfully for the past few weeks. But i have done quick a bit of tinkering. Using the recommendations of the book the diet really wasn't working (for me). After tweaking it works much better (for me)...I'm wondering if the diet has fundamental flaws like "don't worry about fat in your back-load" type of thinking... Also kiefer advertises backloading with things like pizza, but i really don't see pizza as being an "ideal backload". I'm sure you could fit it in your diet somewhere, but it still isn't ideal...
Kiefer clearly knows a) the principles of applied science & b) how to dissect and critically review a study. Plus he has 10 years of practical experience. I really don't see how anyone could be any more qualified than him.The suggestions most qualified nutritionists and even doctors make are laughable.
How long have you been looking for someone more qualified? You're putting kiefer up on some pedestal. The guy did his homework & he knows how to sell a book. He also knows how to sell himself considering how highly you value you him.I think he's a bright guy whos made his money. I think his diet works with a lot of tweaking (I think Kiefer himself would agree the diet needs personal tweaking, the book even mentions how you need to tweak certain elements). But I don't think he is "the most qualified".
the nutrition field is still stuck in the 80s still. besides fat diet celebrities, i cant think of a single person whose a trained nutritionist and discovered/contributed anything the field of nutrition.the nutrition field is advanced by the other sciences; medicine, chemistry, epidemiology to a large extent, and yes physics.
When was the last nutrition class you took? Also you know nutrition isn't just about "eating to get ripped & build muscle?" Nutrion isn't just about bodybuilding...
Oh, really? Have you read all of the research that he has?
His references? I'm skipping all the rat studies they don't interest me...
