Brandon D ChristParticipantI was still wondering about beer. I checked the nutritional values of one Finnish beer in the local market. It had: 40 kcal, 0g fat, 2,6g carbs of which sugar 0g, <0,5g protein, 0g salt per 100 ml. Ingredients: water, barley malt, barley, sugar, hop. Do you think I could drink half of this tonight in the sauna? 😉I was thinking drinking about 2-3 dl which holds 5,2-7,8g of carbs. Yes, I know liquor would be better but beer tastes better. 🙂
Alcohol is a bit of a wild card. You should be fine, but realize that if this becomes a regular thing it could slow progress.

Yea liquor is always the safest bet if you are going to drink. It is easier to understand what happens with alcohol in the absence of dietary carbs. Beer certainly changes things. I would also assume that 5-8 grams of carbs really isn't going to sink your boat. Other than going out with friends once a month on my CN and really knocking them back I don't drink and I have found that to be the best solution.

Shaun Hutchinson-LawsonParticipantSo the idea is while consuming alcohol the body takes preference to burn that first. So my question is on a ULC day what happens to the fat that is floating about. Will that be stored?Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Yes, fat will be stored until the alcohol is burned off.

Any recommendations of how long a person should wait before drinking? Or could a person do it the other way to? Eg. Drink and then have ULC meal 2 hours later?Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

I normally try to give 2 hours before or after, but I will eat lean proteins while I drink with no issues.Honestly when I drink I try to just avoid fatty foods and eat stuff like lean beef and chicken and don't worry to much and it's never hurt me.
