TCBParticipantIs there any real reason to NOT use butter in the AM Accelerator “shake?”Usually about 7/7:30 I have the shake with about 18oz coffee, 1 tbsp MCT, 10g whey, 10g creatine. But I don't really seem to get the hunger suppressing effects of the cholinomimetics, and I'm pretty ravenous by 9/9:30. So is there any real reason to NOT also throw a tbsp of butter into the shake as well? The thinking being that the longer chain, slower digesting fats would help keep hunger off a little bit longer. Because of my work day, I'd like to not eat until 10:30/11.Any thoughts?

OurkoParticipantTry, i try this and works fine for me : coffee, 10g whey, 5g CO and 5g unsalted butter and/or 5ml fish oil.

T-Bone300MemberThe problem with that is that it'll take a couple of hours for the butter to start releasing any energy.You might be better having more coffee, as it's the coffee that is responsible for suppressing ghrelin and the caffien also increases fat burning

papuchodrGuestslightly off topic question, would taking 1 tbspn of sugar/sweetener with 8z of coffee + mct oil destroy the AM fat burning?I'm having a hard time taking this coffee unsweetened. Long time coffee addict.

that's the entire principal of the diet do yes it work harm everythingRe: sweetener, as long as it doesn't spike insulin you'll be ok, problem is I believe some sweeteners do spike it. Just cut the sugar and wait for your body to adapt to not having it, won't take longSent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2

Unfortunately, I drive around the rural areas around my city for a living, so I basically spend 8+ hours a day in my pickup, so I can't make more coffee, ha. And I've tried taking it pre-prepared and it just doesn't hold up well.The delay in the energy releasing from my butter was actually my goal, the thought being that if I have the coffee at 7am, hopefully by about 9:30am it should be getting processed and releasing energy that would help stave off hunger for another hour or two.

T-Bone300Memberok so depends on your goal.The whey isolate with MCT is to prevent catabolism and extend the fast slightly (The MCT releases quickly and dulls the insulin spike from the isolate)If you take in slow releasing fats then your body would turn to those as an energy source which should delay hunger but it will also stop the body burning body fat as the dietary fats become available.In essence you are eating (e.g. making energy source available via fats) to hold off hunger when you could just eat something to not be hungry but I digress.I think you'll be fine with what you suggested and there are a lot of posts on fatty coffee/bulletproof coffee which apply the same approachGive it a go then recheck your goals in 2 weeks and see where you standGood luck

CainoParticipantmake a big sized coffee,add in unsweetened cocoa 1 tsp and cinimin whisk up 2 eggs, add half a scoop of your fav protein powder and slowly slowly stir into your coffee mix if u have a magic bullet use that comes out frothy and add 1 tsp of stevia i used now foods english toffee stevia just a drop or three and boooooom the best coffee ever!!! better then bulletproof ten times over oh and add some coconut cream to the egg mix too just a splash, thank me later
