sckielyParticipantThis is Brianna, she was 15years old when we Started, now 16. She came to my gym in dire need of help. She was being bullied horribly at school and was very overweight. Her health and fitness were terrible when she first came to me in February. The photo above is how she presented at my gym, she was scared and intimidated but her parents were extremely understanding and supportive. We chatted a lot, about what was needed to help Brianna and bit by bit she gained confidence. For the first few months she primarily used Kettlebells and the rowing machine and spin bike. After a few months we progressed to bodyweight exercises and weights with some machines too. We kept the Kettlebells as the main focus. At this point she was also walking every day and started swimming once a week. She credits all of her success to the nutritional knowledge I taught her. I started her out on a paleo /carb nite. She only ate meat, eggs, vegetables and nuts. She also had some cheeses and cream but not much. She had one night a week that she was allowed to indulge, carb nite. She kept these very focused, she would eat carbs with dinner, have a carb heavy dessert and then a protein and carb shake before bed! Most of the time we kept these carb nites as close to paleo foods as possible, so not much junky stuff and mostly home made. This was normally 3 out of 4 carb nites the other one I told her to overindulge and treat herself! Her results are fantastic, she is happy and healthy and confident. Unfortunately she still gets bullied a lot and teased and called fat? We now spend most of our sessions working on building her confidence. Her parents will be changing her school next year. She now follows a more carb back loading plan, again the food choices are basically in line with paleo type choices, real food and quality. She has a carb heavy dinner each night she trains and low carb the other days.We never set her exact numbers for what to eat but through her diary her carbs generally stayed under 50g so not exactly carb nite but I didn't want to overcomplicate it for her. Sometimes it went over sometimes she cheated, particularly at the start. Her results have been awesome. She wanted to share her results. I never ask my clients for photos. Some just offer. I have shared a couple in the past I hope this motivates some of you.

Brandon D ChristParticipantVery incredible result Skiely. This should be required viewing for the people that bitch about Carb Nite not working. Did you use that technique you described before where you base your Carb Nite carbs on the delta chart? You should shoot Kiefer an email with these results. They are incredible.

Jimmy TParticipantExcellent work on both your parts. It's unfortunate that her tormentors are still stuck in the past, but the mob rules in high school. A change of scenery should do her well.Wonder how fat the bullies will be in the future? ;D

MaxFitnessGuestAwesome, awesome work! Wow. That takes monumental effort on her part and really good listening & patience on the coaching side. Awesome, awesome sauce. On a fun side note, all you need is for those bullies to realize she squats more then them, that should do the trick 😉
