Hi everyone,I take asacol which is an anti-inflammatory for my stomach because I have crohns disease. I think it is technically an NSAID but the active ingredient it 5-aminosalicyclic acid and the drug is called Asacol or Mesalamine. I have heard anti-inflammatory drugs cause an increase or raise in insulin levels. Does anyone know anything about this? or if the increase in insulin levels is high enough to make a difference for Carb Back Loading? Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

I hate this stuff. I have Ulcerative Coltis and I have to take this stuff too. From what I have seen I don't believe it messes with insulin or anything, not exactly sure. Though I have been wondering it myself. Maybe someone in the medical field could give a better in sight. I'm sorry that you have this condition. Do hope it gets better for you.
