Got a routine physical a few months ago, and my fasting blood glucose was 105. Because type 2 diabetes does run in my family, my physician warned that this may be a sign that I'm pre-diabetic. Other info about me:~5' 8"~160 lbs~11% bf~usually workouts are around ~6am; occasionally they're around 12pm~sleep schedule: ~11p - 5a. (I'd consider myself to have insomnia; I rarely can stay asleep for more than 2 hours at a time.)Since my blood test, I bought a glucose monitor; I noticed my blood glucose is usually elevated from the moment I wake until I have my first meal of the day. I tried apple cider vinegar, but this didn't really seem to help.If you have any knowledge/tips for dealing with the dawn phenomenon, I'd appreciate your feedback.

I'd switch over to carb night for a bit and see if it helps. Even if your calories are still high it should lower bg levels.

I just bought CBL, and don't know much about carb night. (Never heard of carb night prior to joining this forum.) Not sure I want to buy carb night just yet considering CBL wasn't exactly pocket change. Regardless, thanks for the suggestion--I'll look into it.

PS I was experiencing the dawn phenomenon even before I started backloading. (I only started CBL ~2 weeks ago.)Honestly, I thought the backloads would WORSEN my morning BG levels, but so far, I don't notice ANY change in my numbers.

In a sentence carb night is carb back loading only you only eat the carbs one night a week.
