Just looking at food porn can elevate grehlin levels: http://www.emaxhealth.com/1275/pictures-delicious-food-may-contribute-weight-gainWouldn't surprise me if tasting sweet food prepped your body to release insulin

Yes! #30 Podcast from Dr Patel mentioned this as well. That's why some obese people can have a difficult time in losing weight, such as these protocols. If they do not surround themselves with sugary foods, it will not be a problem, and self control can easily be maintained.

I don't think this is from looking at food, it is probably from the conditioned response that one gets when they see those foods.  The Pavlov's dog effect.

Does anyone know why Dave Asprey loves xylitol?

Erythritol. This is from the Truvia (Stevia) website:

Erythritol is a sugar alcohol used in Truvia® Calorie-Free Sweetener to provide bulk. Bulking agents are additives that increase the bulk of, contribute to the texture, and provide no calories to a food or a beverage. Erythritol has been part of the human diet for thousands of years as it is present in fruits such as pears, melons and grapes, as well as mushrooms and fermentation-derived foods such as wine, soy sauce and cheese. The erythritol in Truvia® Calorie-Free Sweetener is fermented from dextrose, a sugar made from corn.

Yes! That one 8) I use it and no stall in progress and it's awesome. With some drinks be sure to account for the carbs.

When ever I have avocado, I sprinkle some on. Delicious.

Sugar Alcohols are different. They raise blood sugar levels, causing an insulin spike. There is only ONE sugar alcohol that is safe and does NOT raise blood sugars or raise insulin.

Hey Tex, do have a link to the sugar alcohols to avoid?

Do you have the CNS book? It has a cut-out page in there that lists ones to avoid. Anything with a funky -itol (for example) is something to avoid. I wish I could speak it or say it because it'll help you understand what I mean.

Yeah sorry! I do have the book. I have not read it for awhile...forgot it has the list.

And on that topic, super markets make very little profit on their fresh baked goods. The main purpose of the bakery is to get the smell of fresh bread in the air to make shoppers feel hungrier and buy more food.

    Wouldn't surprise me!

I employ that same tactic at work (a kitchen), get the cinnabuns out as quick as possible, cooking bacon really well, and choco chip cookies are the best at this.

    Eh?

The guy who was saying the backery uses the smelling sense to make ppl hungry, causing them to buy more things. I was saying how I do the same exact thing. Just on a smaller scale.

So you get your coworkers to eat more by cooking bacon and having fresh pastries . . . ?
