I searched here first and only saw a couple specific mentions, but I was wondering if we could come up with a more comprehensive list or crib sheet of safe and unsafe sweeteners. I read the Carb Nite book and am a month in, but want to make sure I'm not setting myself back with anything.I know sugar alcohols are bad. I thought aspartame and other sweeteners also caused insulin spikes despite the zero calories. The CN book mentions sucralose as ok, including diet iced tea and sugar free jello but is this up to date? I had some sugar free Jello as a filler a couple times and I felt like it was increasing up my sugar cravings later in the day and possibly even stalling progress. It's also easy to eat several servings of this stuff at a time (if not the whole damn bowl).I see a lot of people mentioning Stevia as good, so I assume that one is ok?I haven't had the time to listen to all the podcasts, so I was hoping some people who have could contribute a little knowledge to this topic and generate a more comprehensive list.Good:SteviaSucraloseBad:Sugar Alcoholsacesulfame potassiumWhat about:AspartameSaccharinedextrose with maltodextrinothers? Thanks.

If you actually did the search you would find your answers more than once

Sorry, I did search the forums and have been reading the site for many months and the CN book and saw no such list or breakdown. Only some mentions of individual sweeteners here and there. So if there's a comprehensive list out there, please post the link, because I didn't find it. Thanks.

Dextrose and Malto need to be added to the bad, but if you see them on meat packages yet the carbs are 0 don't worry about it.

I don't have an issue with ace-k or aspartame. I drink Xenergy frequently and it hasn't set me back (to my knowledge)Sent from my DROID Pro using Tapatalk 2

Here is the comprehensive list of sweeteners that you seek:http://www.marksdailyapple.com/artificial-sweeteners-insulin/#axzz2JFgTedkjI posted this link on the forum before. I recommend the main site btw, it's a wealth of information that really coincides with the diet we are on. The guys who came up with that site really did their research and mentions numerous citations with what they say & do on there.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8039489It's okay, but I'd stick with brands that uses sucralose, I'm almost positive this is the one that causes the least effects on other hormones (other than insulin). I know Monster Energy drink (the no calories) one uses Erithritol and the Monster Lo-Carb uses sucralose. The lo-carb one tastes much better in my opinion.

Sucralose, Erythitol, and Pure Stevia are great sweeteners to use. They don't raise blood sugar levels so they don't really impact the body all that much.
